The Wire fans?
My favorite show started up again last night, its gonna be a pretty good (but last ) season. Kinda slow last night, but I guess they gotta set everything up for upcoming shows.
The opening scene was absolutely hilarious!!!

"When you walk through the garden

In my opinion The Wire has some of the best writing in the history of television. For those who haven't seen it. I recommend giving it a shot. You won't be disappointed... I was hooked after watching the season 3 premiere. It's amazing it doesn't get any accreditation... oh wait there's just... I don't know why that is... I think people want to give it awards, but it's always overshadowed by shows like the Sopranos. Which I know I'm committing some sort of sin by saying this, but I was never really that impressed with it (the Sopranos) -BMW 2006 Last edited by BMW2006; 01-16-2008 at 11:20 PM.. Reason: clarity |

its pretty obvious to me that the reason why mainstream America doesnt watch the show is b/c most consider it 'urban'. most 'non-urban' people wouldnt understand many of the little things that make this show so real. however IMO, this is exactly why mainstream America SHOULD BE WATCHING!!!
People are way too ignorant to want to understand what happens in inner cities since it probably doesnt affect them. however, they are wrong b/c it does, which is why each season focuses on a different segment of society (unions, politicians, media, schools, etc). i agree that it is the best writing and acting that I have ever watched and I too am a huge Sopranos fan. David Simon and HBO got this one right by limiting it to only 5 seasons. hopefully some people wake up rant over...

Pesto... I have been a die hard fan since Season 1 Episode 1.
Have work in law enforcement and stevedoring, I was really hooked during season 2. This season so far has been incredible. Sundays upcoming episode should be renamed to 'The World of Bunk's Facial Expressions!" But I don't want to spoil anything for ya!!1 :-)

You knew that if this is the last season they weren't going to just let Omar go. 8)
I can see how people would think the show can be slow, but you can feel the plot of this season starting to simmer a little bit. I'm looking forward to next week. Hopefully I can resist watching it on demand until Sunday. I kind of like watching it Sunday night, takes my mind off the fact that I need to work in the morning 8). -BMW 2006 |

well there goes the co-op with Prop Joe outta there. Marlo has took over B-More and Omar is coming to get him.
From the trailer, it seems like maybe Snoop/Chris may get caught in the gunfire and Michael/Dukie take over (don't think that will work out too well).

i saw something in an email about that. they actually filmed the last 2 seasons a few minutes from my house, but I could never figure out where it was. I remember a few years ago I ran into Bunk, Freamon, and Herc at an Orioles game

This is one of the best shows out. It is the most realistic police show out there. I have seen up to episode number 7 due to the screener being released online.

a lot of folks have seen the first 7 eps this season via the web. on the HBO blog, there's a 'Spoiler' section in case anyone is interested.
kinda funny though how people say they've seen the last 3 episodes and 'pretend' to know what happens in the end.

Pseto...to answer your earlier question.
The portrayal of the police and stevedoring are accurate. Marlo may last the whole season, especially with the 'Greek' showing him a few tricks!

anyone figure out how Omar lives after jumping out of a 3+ story building?
gonna watch On Demand tonight to see if Omar at least has a limp also, the look on McNulty's face when Templeton says he got a call from the serial killer was priceless!!!
