I'd love to hear the rationale for why the Active Tourer is on any of these lists. How are cars nominated -- is there some kind of panel/committee?

Same here, except I'd swap your first two -- the S-Class Coupe is simply stunning.

The i8 and M3/M4 made it down to the final three in their respective categories.
http://www.autoblog.com/2015/03/04/w...s-geneva-2015/ Winners to be announced at NYIAS. I have a feeling that with the stiff competition the M3/M4 are facing - the AMG GT and F-Type R coupe - they are a long shot. i8 probably has the better chance to take one of its two categories. |

Dang, not sure that the M3/4 can stand its ground to the AMG GT in the performance car segment. The M3/4 is too well rounded to be dubbed 100% performance.

A tasty list with many of the usual European models not sold in the US.

Green category never met Tesla P85 Insane button? Doesn't get any greener or faster with luxury than that. I8 who?
Makes me question if manufacturers advertising spend with the journalist publications influenced the list. Like the fortune best companies to work for list.

The M4 is an extraordinary car, it deserves to win as much as the i8 but because of the way technology is moving forward, I think the i8 may win.
Either way, they both deserve it. |
