I have a chance to get a different phone as my wife is offering to take my lg g3 as a replacement for her old iphone 4. For now (till I decide what to get), I'm using her iphone 4.
This is turning out to be a tough choice. I've always been an iOS fan for six years but the last one year using the G3 has changed my perspective a bit. While I love the iPhones fit and finish and the idea of fingerprint recognition and apple pay, there are some android features it looks like I'm going to really miss. - Google maps send to car. On android I can do it from google maps itself and I can send not just destinations but actual routes also. - multiple email icons for multiple email accounts - back button - home screen widgets for my work calendar. I have two widgets for day view and month view - profile widgets for home, car and work (wifi on Bluetooth off sound on etc based on profile) Initially I thought ill head straight to the apple store and get an iphone but now I'm not so sure Getting analysis paralysis after looking at the nexus 6. I can't think of anything negative with my g3, it's been a great workhorse but I can say the same of my previous phones which were a 4s and a 3GS before that. Thoughts?

Less money, better OS, more features, more useful applications, more durable (usually).
Android, is it even a question? I recently grabbed a google device (nexus 4 in my case) and despite being slightly too big the unmolested OS on it is a huge win. Honestly if I could get away with having a regular phone I would, but I cant, so it's gotta be droid.

Sounds like you malted made your decision!
IPhone is great if your happy with a simple device that looks pretty but lacks a lot of features and is usually a generation or 2 behind its competitors. Sounds like you really take advantage of the features that android has to offer. I would go with the nexus 6 or the new g4 |

Get a 6 plus. You know why? Because I have one, ergo my opinion is highly biased. But seriously, you can't go wrong with either. I went from 6 to a 6 plus and I'm enjoying the bigger screen. My friends have Samsungs and even though I think they are hideous, they're great phones and they swear by them. Good luck in your search, keep us posted.

Thoughts... about your FWP.... no, no thoughts at all. Get what ever phone you like.

I was actually kinda hoping someone would tell me you CAN send destinations and routes from google maps on an iPhone .
Seriously, thats the only thing making me hesitate because I use it a lot. The idea of pure Android on the Nexus 6 seems attractive but I think the design by Motorola is hideous (just my taste). I don't want to regret getting a phone without the features I already use (primarily the send to car thing. widgets I will get used to not having, and Apple will probably introduce it in the next iOS version and claim to have "reinvented the phone" again), but at the same time I also don't want to get iEnvy after a month (I do love the fit and finish and smoothness on iPhones). FWP indeed.

I went from the first Android phone ever produced (G1) --> 3GS --> 4s --> 5 --> Nexus 5 --> iPhone 6. I am never going back to Android ever again. I always root/jailbreak my phone so they can reach their full potential. The Android widgets are definitely a great feature but a lot of them was running in the background and draining my battery like crazy.
I use Google Maps on a consistent basis. On the Nexus 5, any GPS related apps will seriously drain my battery. I am talking about 1% every minute or so. For the iPhone 6, I can run Google Maps, Waze for hours and it would probably kill 20% of my battery life. The only thing I can think of that Android is better than iPhone is the widget. They are pretty convenient to use. |

I'm still on the fence, still can't decide .
I want that iPhone for how it looks, that aluminium body and the smoothness. But I can't get the nexus 6 and the home screen widgets out of my head. And sending routes to the car.

Every time I get tempted to switch to the iPhone, something even cooler than Apple's idea would come along.

Have you taken a look at the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge? Build quality is best I've seen yet on any android device... In my opinion comparable to the iPhone. The aluminum body and gorilla glass front and back look terrific and feel great. The Edge is a bit gimmicky but I actually find myself using many of the edge features and it really does make the device different from anything else on the market. Bloatware certainly isn't anywhere close to the Nexus since it is a Samsung but after turning apps off and uninstalling others it's pretty smooth, much better than any previous Samsung device. And the camera and screen are amazing. When you do a serious blind comparison of specs and features The iPhone really doesn't measure up. The only test I've seen the iPhone win is processor for gaming.... Everything else goes to the S6... Or is subjective.

Sorry Samsung phones are not in my list its just personal preference with the aesthetics. I guess they are excellent phones they just don't fit my taste especially its something about the icons and the UI.

I have a Sony Z3C and love it. I've always had Samsung Android phones, but switched to the iPhone 6 when it came out. It was too basic for me.
The Z3/Z3C have great build quality and the battery life is amazing. I can go 2 days on the Compact without charging and normal use. It's a pretty stock Android experience, unlike Samsung (hate touchwiz). They came out w a Z4 which is a marginal upgrade, so it's not worth the $. They may come out w a Z5 in early '16 if rumors are true. |

Finally pulled the trigger on an iPhone 6.
First impressions : it seemed great in the store but the size is a bit weird. It's too small for (comfortable) two handed operation and too big for one handed operation. It's kinda in-between. And doesn't feel... Grippy. Anyone else feel this way? Wondering if I should return it for a six plus.
