Special 507 display at the BMW Museum...
The BMW Museum has a temporary display of special 507 models - that the company made over the years. I thought I knew a lot about the various older BMW models from the 50's... but there were a few versions of the 507 that blew my mind. Have a look for yourself. Btw... this special 507 exhibit goes until January 31st, 2016. The cost is 10 euros to see the BMW Museum. Hours: Tuesday thru Sunday - 10am until 6pm. Monday's the museum is CLOSED! BMW Museum Am Olympiapark 2 80809 München http://www.bmw-welt.com/en/exhibitio...l/bmw_507.html It all started at the Frankfurt Auto Show(IAA) back in 1955. This is what the show looked like... Lets first take a stroll thru the BMW Museum...

Thanks for posting this Dackel. I thought I saw some various 507s in some BMW museum pictures of a recent Euro delivery thread.

Agreed! Of all the eye candy in that building, to me the boat was one of the most beautiful and impressive pieces on display.

I think that's the nicest boat I've ever seen!! One day I will have a replica of that made - now I only need a cottage on a lake and a pile of $$$!

such beautiful cars (and I love the boat as well) - thanks! It's always interesting to see that some of today's fashion trends (in this case front fender vents - yes I know BMW's vents are functional, but...) have a historical context.

Great pics as usual Dackelone! I think there was only 2 507s when I was at the Welt last fall. As much as I love the 507, the 328 to me would be the dream car.

No - not at this special display at the Museum.
Elvis's 507 is still being restored. Once its finished I believe BMW Classic will show us the car. They said last July when I was at the press conference at the BMW Museum... that the restoration would take about two years. I think BMW plans the car to be finished to celebrate their 100th birthday in 2016. Here is what Elvis's car looked like last year at the Museum...
