I like the Sharks and each spring its the same thing, but this year something is different. I think this is the year. The year where they finally get over the hump and play for the cup.

Those were the days. I lived in Dallas at that point and we had corporate season tickets to the Star's Club and the president of the company was friends with Modano, Churla, and company. Lots of great parties and even better stories!!

Ice hockey is a sport played by us in europe, destroyed by you in the na.

I do look forward on seeing how the nhl will get our young ones to develop. In the world championship tournament that's going on now, there is serious young talent in show.

Modano was one of my most looked up to players growing up. Yzerman was probably number one though.

Oh I could share a story about your team and why canada gave me a shock a year ago, if I wished my ego to be shredded...

I like more the big field games we do in europe, but I do give credits for the ahl for getting our young ones up to speed. Nhl is not my game anymore, the joy is gone by then and it's just rich men waiting for the golf season.

It was invented in North America, Kind of presumptuous to say we destroyed it. Seems like your players like what we pay as far as salaries go. Maybe you' r watched Red Army too many times.

Heh. Lups ? Presumptuous? Never. I think she's referring to the more "refined" style of play with the larger surface in the international game. I can see her point, but I like both. I like taking the clutching and grabbing our of the game, but let them still be rough and play the game.

IMHO Canadians love the sport for what it is. I ask my Canadian colleagues who they want and they all wanted the Blues. I wanted the Caps after my team lost the first round. We want to see deserving and even new teams winning the Cup. Sharks Pens would be a disaster....

Hey we in europe invented democracy and considering only 30% of people considered free (no slaves, no women, no working class) was in that number, I claim hockey as an european sport!

As a disclaimer, I have to tell that I used to follow nhl, ahl, the swedish league, Finnish league and the remains of the russian league back in my time. Hockey os in my blood and strongly so.

I love the defensive players opening the game. And yup, you're right.

My brother was by far the best defender I've ever seen at the age he played (in my family a sport is not seen highly as a profession, and he was sent to law school). I love seeing skills and an eye for the game. I do admit a big ring makes real stamina and skill an easier thing to spot but also your way has merits.

I am really happy the juniors here get big minutes, even in the leagues. The passion for the game and not just the money is epic
