This has nothing to do with the cayman.
It was already slipping and sliding before that. Besides there is slower traffic on the ring. Anyway you see a slower driver coming up for enough time to anticipate on that. The porsche doesnt make any strange sudden moves.

That's all the e46 driver's doing. Never drive off road or even on the curbs on a wet 'Ring surface. It's always the faster car's responsibility to over take in a safe manner. And its a tourist lap = not a race.

That's Touristenfahrten, cutting that blind fast left bend (after Fuchsröhre, before Adenauer Forst) on the curbs, in the wet, for a fast lap, should be reserved for track days. Safety and respect first! |

So it's normal when driving the N'Ring to coast through turns a 20mph and not even go anywhere near the apex? I don't see how people are saying the Cayman is correct. Come on, you're on a race track you should Not be doing 20 miles per hour. Yes, I agree you should not be crushing corners like its a rally race but at least drive spirited or what the hell is the point. The M3 caught glimpse of a stopped car, jammed on the brakes and lost control. The Cayman did have influence here and should definitely been going faster that this.
not seeing a single car here not enjoying the slippery conditions |

IIRC - Not a race track. Public toll road. General road rules apply. Want to race on the Ring? Sign up to one of their private track days.

Isn't the ring a public road first before a race track? I don't see how the Cayman is at fault unless there is a speed minimum.

The 'Ring is a public toll road. Any car/van/RV/Bus/Truck can drive on it. An open TF(tourist fahrt) is not the event to put in a fast lap(time). For that one of the Green Hell Day's would be a better choice. http://www.nuerburgring.de/fileadmin...ist-Drives.pdf

It doesnt matter if it's a public road or a racetrack, you see yourself closing up on someone in front, how hard could it be to adapt your speed in time.
There are some pretty long stretches with good visibility before that so he must have seen that he was closing on that cayman pretty fast before he went in that blind corner. It seems to me that he was foremost cutting that corner too fast, going onto the curbs in the wet, so maybe would have crashed anyway.

^^ Agreed, he was carrying too much speed he will crash on the right turn anyway. I said that already . With that said his speed wasn't safe to enter that left turn and that is the fault ! IMHO he didn't know the 'Ring. There is plenty of videos for crashes in that 'Ring . Most of them cuz underestimating the turns and going too fast.
