Leftover Halloween horrors - the first thing they do is run it through one of those spin-rag car washes.

The least they could do is make you pay more for those swirls

Yes, it overwhelmed my initial response - was going to remark about it being a bit of one-upmanship product placement to have the opening shot of a Mercedes truck grill, but then the shock of the spin-wash just overwhelmed me.

The huge mechanical '3-card-monty' car stack was actually pretty cool - wonder how many ED custom 7-series you have to order before they let you ride your car for that.

I believe the car is coated in heavy wax to protect the paint during transport and this machine removes the wax

There also isn't any dirt on the paint that causes swirls maybe some dust in the factory that gets cleaned off. Also I'd be willing to get those brushes are cleaned and rotated often

While I would never take my BMWs through a automatic wash with brushes I will say some of the best automatic washes I've seen are in Europe. Also the ones at the Welt probably never wash heavily dirty cars and as someone else stated they probably rotate out the brushes often.

The spin wash at my local dealer never put swirls on mine the times they did it against my request not to.

I can guaranty you that that is the safest automatic car wash in the world. My paint was FLAWLESS when I picked up my F80 at the Welt (and TBM is terrible at showing imperfections).

Want my garage to look like the one on 3 minute mark. But guess then it will be a problem to choose a ride for a day.

Yep. I agree. My paint was and is flawless too.

Models like the X3,X4,X5 and X6 will come directly from the Port as they are manufactured in Spartanburg so they will have a few weeks dust and grime.
These models can be delivered to European customers but not on US European Delivery same goes for the BMW i3 and i8 and the BMW eDrive models.

Pretty cool, I guess the train at the end with the Touring 5ers are not coming to the US market!

Not sure I want to go in the glass elevator with the car running on a daily basis... seems like a carbon monoxide box.... I guess it has great venting like the rest of the Welt

Cool videos ! The Germans and their precision of all things mechanical is always fun to see. Somewhat off topic - but years and years ago when I was a serious fisherman I had 2 or 3 spincast fishing reels made by German company called Quick they were the most precise and simple well made reels I had, even the Daiwa and Shimano couldn't equal the quality and precision of the Quick's.

Ok - sorta dumb but them Germans are good with engineering stuff

Damage Under Front Euro Plate - Warning!

I advise all those taking European Delivery at the Welt to demand they remove the plates for inspection under them prior to accepting the car!

I took second delivery of the car from local dealer with my euro plates still on the car, which my rep suggested for the cool factor, and specifically directed the prep team not to remove. Within four days (having basically driven it home and parking it in the garage during that time) I had it over to my clear bra installer. And when he removed the front plate to my shock and horror a Nickel-sized gouge was underneath between the area were the tape strips were!

BMW corporate is skeptical, and now it's my dealer's fault when it clearly happened at the Welt!

Do euro buyers of the x-cars come over here for American Delivery? Instead of our stories of the Autobahn and the alps, I'm picturing them all trading stories of getting to sit in interminable gridlock, drag racing a riced out accord at a stoplight, and the general 'WTF - they really CAN't drive'.
