The no foreign transaction fee thing would have been nice for us back in September. Not that it added up to a whole lot.
Did you have the blue card before? We have Chase/Amazon Visa as well. EDIT: I just went into my Amazon account and upped the rewards to 5%. Thanks for the heads up.

Meh, the only good thing about it is 5% cash back at Amazon. The sign up bonus is a joke and I already get 3% at restaurants.
Let me know when they offer a huge sign up bonus and I might consider getting it as my Amazon.com only card. Sapphire Reserve + Freedom is still way better than this. |

I've had the regular store card since day one. Not used anymore. And then got the Chase/Amazon Visa (black and silver) late 2015. At the time they gave me a $80 Amazon credit for sign up.

That's kinda the point.
The other perks are cool but as someone who regularly spends @ $500 a month at Amazon like me, VERY nice no question. $300/year makes for some nice gifts.

I'm jelly. Two weeks until closing so I can't apply at the moment. With all my Amazon spending, it would be awesome. I've had the Amazon Prime Card with 5% for so long that I never felt the need to grab the Visa Prime but now...

Currently getting about 2% on general purchases, this would get me 3% more for Amazon purchases, or $15 on every $500 spent on Amazon.

Didn't say it was for everyone. But avid/regular Amazon shoppers the benefits are great!
*edit* For the record, I agree that if you were applying for a NEW card and wanted more spending flexibility and rewards in general, The AMEX Everyday Cash or Chase Sapphire or even Discover IT are better options. BUT, if like me, you spend alot at Amazon, this card is a must have!

Got the email today. No foreign transaction fee will come in handy. Wifey buys lots of Brit books and we go overseas every year.

Hmmm I've had some Amazon card for a while now that has always been 5%. I only use it for Amazon, in fact, I don't even think it's a physical card. It's just stored on Amazon.

I'm pissed at Amazon Prime, it finally comes to Canada and I sign up for the free trial because they have some interesting content. Then I go to watch something and I get this error message saying I need to update my Silverlight, (I use Mac BTW), and have never needed Silverlight in the past so I go on line to a Mac forum to see what to do. It turns out that it was never activated on my Air so I fire it up, same message needs update. I try several times and have challenges so I uninstall and re-install. Then go to Amazon and same error message. After about 90 minutes of screwing around with Amazon Prime I send them a note and tell them I'm not interested as I have no way in hell of using it. The Silverlight is up to date just to be clear. A shame, but you'd think this would be a simpler process from a company as big as Amazon.

Amazon offers 2 different cards: one is the Amazon store card which is online but they should have sent you a physical card as well; the other is the Amazon Visa card. I have the former and never use the physical card as it doesn't really do me any good vs a card like the Sapphire Reserve.

my wife is excited about this news. one of three chase rewards cards between the two of us. used almost exclusively on amazon, as our chase sapphire, delta amex, or chase freedom provide better rewards on most purchases.

I'm anti jeff, but I admit I've had prime trials over and over and have this card. I don't use it for any reason. Discover was doing 5% the last quarter of 2016, and I had some huge amount on my gift card balance as I was a su***** and bought at 10% in 2015. That was before I became anti Jeff. The free prime came in handy when I needed those plastic interior tools to fix something, and they cost like $5. But the pricing is off the wall. Do you know, CR2032 coin cells are like $2.48 now, but they are almost $6 yesterday? And, sometimes when you buy the retail packing, they come from 3 rd parties as knock offs? But being a JPM shareholder, I think you in advance for using the card lol (c'mon don't accept anything less than 5% on gas)

My Citi Forward card gives 5% cash back at Amazon, Bars, Restaurants, and book stores.
I think I will stick to that with my AMEX with the 6% cash back on gas and groceries and 3% at department stores.

Sorry, I was getting posts mixed up. My grocery store has it's own gas station so I can buy a gift card for the grocery store while I am buying groceries and use it for gas as well, effectively getting 6% instead of the 3% the card gives on gas everywhere else.
