Lucid Air goes 235 mph without speed limiter

Looks like lucid is really going after tesla with faster acceleration and too speed. This is getting into Bugatti territory with 1000+ HP and 235 mph. Wonder when the p120d is coming out to answer lucid, maybe Elon musk will say it's not in production yet so it doesn't count as we're concentrating on mass producing model 3

Vaporware. Musk may be worried about the established brands, but Lucid probably costs him zero f's.

They are saying starting price is $52,500 for a 400 horsepower car you can reserve for $2500. The cheapest used tesla is $47500 and new ones are $70k. A little competition will help drive down the price of the ev luxury market. My next car will likely be electric.

BMW needs to get on board with electric 3 series and 5 series in this price range or face extinction.

The model 3 competes in the compact luxury class hence the lower price. Lucid is mid size but has a 7 series sized interior. Not sure about trunk space though.

I think they're still doing better than Faraday Future, but we shall see. Surprised the big auto makers are so slow to go electric.

EVs haven't proven to be profitable at all. Musk and Tesla would have been gone long ago except for subsidies.

Ahh yes them. Tesla loses around $13k on every car they sell, and this is supposed to continue with the model 3. What a business model.

I'm not a fan of going EV at this time but it is the future. Amazon was losing money by the truckload but now they're profitable and trading at near $1000 a share.

Faraday just decided not to invest a billion dollars in a new plant outside Las Vegas. They're looking for an existing building to convert.

That probably means actual production is still a long way off.

Yeah, my mistake, that was Faraday, not Lucid that scrapped their plans for the Vegas plant. I still hold that both have less of a chance of success than even Fisker did.
