Failure to use turn signals
not letting others merge
not waiving thanks when someone lets you in
driving slowly in the left lane (or middle lane in a three lane highway)
texting while driving
shaving or putting on makeup while driving

----Let me rephrase that... slow drivers that speed up when they see you coming and then get pissed off because instead of it being a simple lane change pass, it now becomes, " this dick in a BMW cut me off"!! I have a lot more pet peeves, but this one ranks at the top of the list.

Good one. I agree. sometimes it is so annoying. They speed up when you want to pass them, then when you back off, they slow down, and the dance goes on.

These are all good ones, I'll add "following too closely" to the list.

I'm on the road literally all day every day for my job, and I meet all kinds of people. EVERYONE I meet complains about how people drive. I wonder how many of these people examine their own driving habits and make a conscious effort to be a more courteous and safe driver....

First two post sum up my everyday 80 mile commute pet peeves. Almost every one happens every day to me, especially the speeding up one, so damn frustrating. People will be going 65 until I come up at 80 and I have to move a lane to the right to pass since they can't move over and then they speed up and start pacing you, like really wtf asshole.

My thing is people who won't get in the right lane until they absolutely have to turn right, that instant. It's called planning. Don't cut me off because your forgot you lived 78 feet from where you found yourself day dreaming in the middle lane.

Now that I drive a small, fast car that can overtake people and cyclists with relative ease, there are far fewer things on the road that really annoy me.

Also, I have accepted that I'm a bit of an arsehole on the roads, there's a stretch of road on my commute with about five roundabouts on it; each of which I take at about double the speed of the normal flow of traffic, so I can overtake about 3 cars per roundabout using the outside lane. I don't do it for any reason except that it's fun .. and I recognise that this behavior probably pisses off a lot of other motorists who are just in for a mindless easy commute. ... knowing that makes me far more forgiving of others' injustices.

However, there are two things:

1) Someone who cuts you off then goes slowly.

I have no problem with the guy in the V8 who pulls out in front of me on an empty highway who then proceeds to gun it and speed off in the distance; or at the very least, get up to highway speed before he meets my front bumper. But that guy who decided to merge in front of me into a tiny gap, that then wants to 10kph below the limit? WTF!

2) People who wait behind the line at lights, then don't enter the intersection on a yellow light.

Okay, this should have been covered in your basic road training - Three cars can turn right (left for you US folk) from the centre of the intersection after the oncoming traffic has stopped on every rotation of the lights. If you're at an intersection turning across oncoming traffic and you wait patiently behind the white line, waiting for a written invitation to enter the intersection; at some intersections you'll be waiting for many cycles of lights before there's a gap for you to go.

GET IN THE GODDAMN INTERSECTION AND CLEAR IT ON THE YELLOW/RED!

... and to a lesser extent people who slow down for a green then stand on the anchors the second it goes to orange. JUST GO!

Turning left from a busy street onto a street with a car at a stop sign street also turning left. Right before/when I turn, the driver accelerates almost T-boning me. I'm not stopping traffic behind me to let him out first before I turn, I have the right away. The other driver always acts like it's my fault.

I always have my turn signal on, I've found myself late breaking to make sure they don't think I'm slowing down to let them out. Of course perhaps some drivers think I'm going too fast to make the turn and are trying to quickly accelerate behind me and get shocked when I turn.

My biggest pet peeve is when I honk at someone for swerving between two lanes, because they're TEXTING, and they get pissed off at me.

That and sitting in the left lane and not even doing the speed limit. I've had some fun times passing people when they do that.
They also don't own a car that has a rear view mirror apparently. It seems to only work when a police cruiser is RIGHT behind them and they flip the lights on and get pulled over. I've witnessed that four or five times (it's SO much fun to watch ). My wife was with me one time and I started to count down: 5-4-3-2-1 and she was like what are you doing. I pointed to the police officer tailing someone in the passing lane and said the lights are going to go on. And they did.

I make sure when I go, I really go. I cannot stand it when I see a car in the left lane with a ten car gap in front going the same speed as the other lanes, which is essentially blocking the flow of traffic.

In the left lane, "slow" is anything slower than the flow of traffic or driving the same speed as the flow of traffic as the other lanes, which is what really bothers me. If drivers want to drive 80, let them. I think all drivers in the left lane should be courteous and move aside anytime a car wants to pass. My only gripe is with the left lane blockers. If drivers choose to drive slow in the other lanes, it doesn't bother me, I respect this actually as the are doing exactly as the posted signs say "Slower traffic keep to the right".

My other pet peeves:

People who drive for a living that suck at driving;
Uber, Lyft, taxi, bus drivers, limo drivers, chariot, etc.

I drive in downtown SF so I encounter these people all the time.

Double parkers; mainly uber and lyft drivers who stop in the road when there is a spot to pull off the road right next to them, idiots is all I can think.

People that do not allow buses to merge back on to the roadway after picking up/dropping of passengers

People that sit with their turn signals on hoping and praying another driver will let them in while slowing down to a crawl rather than speeding up and then changing lanes.

People that brake when merging on to the freeway when traffic is flowing at the limit.

People that try and make a left turn when there is no left turn allowed and blatantly block traffic while trying to do so.

People that make their own turn lane, meaning they turn in a non turn lane because they want to cut everyone else who is sitting in the turn lanes in traffic

People who obviously suck at following navigation instructions. I see uber/lyft drivers make last minute, crossover three lane turns all the time and I always wonder why. The navigation tells the driver way in advance what the next step is.

People who block the intersection when there is heavy traffic.

As you all can see, my pet peeves come from people who block the flow of traffic and don't have any common driving sense. When some more come to mind, I'll make sure and update my list
