Let's see your Dogs!
In the spirit of MMMazing07 getting a new pup, lets post pictures of when our dogs were puppies, and then a more current picture.
This is Hunter, he's a 8 month old Vizsla.

what dogs breeds are friendly to keep inside house and easy to maintain? I have never own a dog but would like to but also afraid I might fail as a dog owner.

All breeds of dogs are friendly by nature. It's neglect, and lack of training that creates troubled dogs. It's too bad that some breeds like the pit bull get such a bad rep, they are some of the best family pets, it's just that a lot of pit bull pet owners don't take the time to socialize them and train them correctly. I would say if you are worried about having a dog that is easy to maintain, let alone think that you may fail as a dog owner, you might not be ready for your own. That's not to say that you never will be, it's alot of responsibility, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I think the best appraoch will be to go to the local petstore and see the dogs what they have there. See which one you like. The other thing what you could do is to go the local dog pound and see the dogs there. Some of those places will let you take the dog for a walk or let you play with them in a closed fenced area. That will give you a good idea of wht type of dog you like. Good luck man. |

Jack Russels are good small dogs that are also low maintenance. Try to stay away from the sporting or hearding group of breeds - they require a lot of exercise.

If you're thinking of getting a dog, please avoid getting one at a petshop. Go to a reputable breeder who only breeds one particular breed. Puppy Mills are horrible and purchasing pups from petshops keeps them in business. The care provided in puppy mills is really bad, so ther eis a higher chance of getting an ill, sick, or cancer prone dog when purchased from a petshop.

Uh....every Jack I have run across is hyper as hell and can be quite the brat when the owner leaves the house. Maybe some are calm though.
