Calling all toy snobs!

There is so much garbage out there when it comes to toys.

I would appreciate any suggestions on brands I should check out for my kids a la quality level of what I listed below.

A few of my favorites that don't immediately enrage me to spend money on:

-LEGO

-Bruder

-Jellycat

I’ve noticed museums tend to have nice arts and craft toys in their gift shops.

Can’t go wrong with Bruder toys. Great German quality. My son just turned 13, but still has quite a few of his Bruder trucks which are in mint condition.
Ohhhhh, and we love Hot Wheels as well. He has quite a collection of specific car brands such as BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche just to name a few.
BTW P1.....great pic. Got to love it when kids still use their imagination to play and aren’t stuck on their game consoles the majority of the time.

Those certainly look high quality, but I have a feeling that your excellent photography may make them look better than IRL...?

They truly are very good toys. I recently got him a Manitou MRT 2150 and it’s very, very realistic.

I have some toys left over from when I was a kid but frankly have grown to play with big-boy toys. Cars, boats, watches, guns and stereo equipment are the primary ones. I have a short attention span and am running out of space.....my bride is very supportive because she likes her toys as well....

Up until a year or so ago, I hadn't touched Legos at all since I was little. I knew some folks that had their kids involved w/ Lego robotics competitions. Turns out that there is a huuuuge underground Lego market chock full of custom and modified parts. The NVG, ACH, sidearm holsters, M60, etc... are all from that world. I even have forward moving flags on their right shoulders. Pretty cool IMHO.

I originally re-visited Legos because I randomly came across a Lego A-10C that someone made. The GAU-8 barrels even rotated. They had a parts list and everything but a # of them went obsolete. As a side project, I've been re-creating that parts list.

For OP, Legos are more bad@$$ now than they were when I was a kid. Can't go wrong w/ them.

If I had to choose Legos it would be anything Star Wars!

Yep, house with a four year old, tons of Legos and a growing Bruder collection. They're such good quality. The fire truck actually sprays water and the ambulance toggles between EU and US sirens.

Hot Wheels are almost indestructible and cheap. You get A LOT for $1.

This is "my" Gulf collection. My son's collection is much more varied and played with, while mine sit in a display case:

I've since added more Gulf cars, but this was a complete collection of every Gulf blue Hot Wheels at the time.

I do read my kid the graphic novel of LeMans. And I have a terrible pic of my favorite custom bike.
