The tool asks for your social security number. If yours wasn't taken previously, now it will. LOL

I'd rather some people go to jail. Until there is some real bite behind lax security practices which forces proper INFOSEC behavior, we're going to see this crap repeated in the future.

I've had numerous conversations with various organizations about security and behaviors are driven by the minimum of what they have to and not what is proper. INFOSEC doesn't appear on some CXO's balance sheet as tied to any revenue generating investment. Jail time and substantial fines are what makes people do the right thing.

So, ummm....I already know I am one of those affected, and I went to the file claim page, but before I started filling out all the information, I realized I had no guarantee that it was the official file claim page, or if this was another scam.

This is a settement and as such, yourt acceptance is legally binding contract releasing the defendant from culpabilty for any other claims from you.

The only information this site requires is who you are, how you want your payment (check/card) and where to mail it. Carrying a smartphone everyday is more risky than filing this claim.

If after filing, the settlment administrator contacts you asking for additional personal information ....be very cautious.
