It's been de escalated and one casualty has been taken to the hospital. This is only about 2 miles, as the crow flies, from my home. When forced to go to Walmart, this is where I go.

I'm with you. I have been putting off getting my permit just because I don't want to feel like I need to carry. I'm very quickly seeing how ignorant that mindset is. I foresee a permit and purchase of a more comfortable gun in the near future.

This is just foking ridiculous, sad, sickening, frustrating and quite frankly out of control.

I was literally just talking with my wife about me starting to carry again. Which she is not a fan of. The thought of my beloved family and young boys being in danger for no good reason other than "rabid and blind hatred" is just beyond words. I haven't carried in years. But the amount of intense hatred coupled with brazen lack of respect for human life, has gotten beyond out of hand in the last couple of years. And it seems to be ratcheting up.
God help us all....

It will be interesting to see if WalMart does anything - although I really don’t know how they can secure the parking lot and store.

On the other hand, have you ever noticed how WalMart is laid out inside and even their parking lots? Lots of good places to take cover because the aisles are not parallel. That means also lots of ways to work your way out a back exit without the shooter seeing you. Might want to scope it out next time you’re in the local WalMart (or any other store) so you have an exit plan in mind.
