My PSA to other drivers

If a motorcycle closes up on you, even on a two-lane road, do NOT move past the white line on the right and kick up a shitload of debris, unless you think we might be relatives and want to run some of my DNA off your windshield thru one of the testing sites. When it is safe for me to pass, I WILL.

I only rode 8 miles home last night, and 6 yahoos, even on multi-lane roads, pulled across the right line - SMH

Do not tailgate period. It won't get you there any damn faster. But it will 1) potentially cause an accident; 2) create road rage; 3) annoy infinitekidm2c

If you are approaching a red light and not turning right, move the eff over into the left lane.

One of my favs from years ago!

I am bombarded with so many things that annoy me on a daily basis, that I have come to realize I am just an asshole. I would have no choice to release an entire series of PSA's to include:
"Put your F'n phone down and pay attention to what is going on around you!"

"Stay the F out of the left lane unless you are passing someone"

"As a pedestrian, you only have the right of way in a crosswalk" (aka "Step out in front of me playing with your phone again MF'r!")

"Have some clue of what you want to communicate before you start a conversation with someone" (aka "Shut the F up and go away")

There are a ton more, but should be enough to get started.

If you're driving 10 miles an hour below the posted speed limit, you are either a tourist, an idiot or both.

It irks me when people think their time is more important than mine and use the clear left lane to pass everyone trying to make a right and then force their way in just before the right hand turn so they didn't have to wait. They knew darn well they wanted to make a right, and where it was...they just didn't want to wait with the rest of us.

On a related note, people coming up the shoulder in stop and go traffic also annoy me for the exact same reason.

But one time, a glorious thing happened, sitting on the highway in stop and go traffic and a guy in a pickup decided he had had enough of people passing him on the shoulder, so he pulled off into the shoulder to block them and maintained the same speed as the traffic on the highway so they couldn't pass anymore. I was right behind him in the right lane, so I pulled up to within a few feet of his bumper and paced him so no one could get in between us. Stopped that practice real quick, many unhappy people on the shoulder. Guy pulled back into his rightful spot in front of me once traffic started moving again and gave me a wave.

I'm with you on the first part about importance. But here is where a PSA might actually come in handy.

I used to be of the same mentality that people shouldn't continue up the ultimate merging point. Then I was told how the crews planned the merge (especially in construction instances) to make the most efficient use of the space available. I'm not talking driving over the white line to get an extra 2 car lengths, but also doesn't mean you have to immediately merge when the lane continues for another 1/4 mile (however many meters that is in Canada). The real issue is that people do not know how to properly zipper/merge without constant stop/go.

Corollary: If you are making a left turn, don't do it from the right shoulder, especially on 2-lane roads. The rest of us who intend to continue in a linear fashion shouldn't be forced to wait until you can complete your turn across oncoming traffic.

The thread title got changed, but I never intended to limit this to CAR-related PSAs. Since it was OT, I figured we could address other issues as well.

Maybe MODs are just trying to keep it somewhat car-specific after recent "complaints" about top results?

I don't have a problem with people using the merge lane (provided that they indeed are entering the highway, and not just pulling out from behind me into the merge lane to get a few extra car lengths which I've seen countless times).

But the above was not about merge lanes. I was talking using the actual dirt shoulder, not a merge lane. You aren't supposed to be driving along the shoulder for any extended period of time.

This is the only one which really annoys me. This is a MERGE sign, in other words, you continue moving at speed and MERGE with traffic. It does NOT mean stop, with the merge lane wide open, and wait for traffic in the oncoming traffic line to open a spot for your to MERGE 2+ lanes over. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
