The problem is Acura recently seems to only want to sell based on looks alone. The A spec is a joke. Give me something I'd actually want to buy over another company's car. How about a TLX with SH-AWD, and the TT V6 from the NSX paired to at least the ZF 8 speed for 50-55k? Or a new rsx or tsx/ilx with the Civic type r engine, offered in front and/or AWD to compete with the STI? They will never have the balls or claim they won't have the budget to build it, so the best we can hope for is a trim and suspension kit. I hope I'm wrong.

If they build it, it will likely have the 1.5T out of the Civic Sport. So, barf.
Same old, tired plan for Acura. Build a hot concept, mellow it down to something vanilla for production, put a blah engine into it, and then sell 'sport' packages that are just window dressing. The only thing they have built over the last 10 years that isn't just a slightly nicer Honda is the current NSX, and it isn't selling for shit. Not gonna hold my breath. Long gone, I believe, are the days of the original NSX, the Integra Type R, or heck - even the RSX Type S. That thing had fantastic steering. (sigh).

Forged carbon wheels
Forged carbon aero bits $15k price increase for styling and then they will put a few touches on an underpowered engine base to get some unimpressive HP rating. Car will be huge and underpowered - will lack the feel of a fun sporty car 21 inch rims and wide tires in hopes to offset the lack of lightness that they should be chasing. I pray that I am wrong... |

Don't even think the concept looks good. And as mentioned above, that's usually all Acura has in it's sights. Pass.

If they don't butcher the prototype this will be the first good looking sedan Acura has made in years.... if they price it right it will sale a ton in that look.

It should have no door handles like the prototype. Unlock with phone or card key and just pops open and automatically lock when you leave.

Having been a loyal Acura owner for 20 years, and having owned seven Acuras, they have lost touch with their customer base. I had a 1994 NSX for 15 years, and most recently my 2017 NSX was returned via Lemon Law. The cars just aren't as inspiring as they were in the 90's and early 2000's. Look at their overall sales numbers, and you'll see a company with very little market share.

You clearly haven't messed with a Smart Lock. I'm frequently standing outside of my house cussing my August lock while fruitlessly tapping on the unlock icon.

Pretty shocking that massive companies like Honda and Toyota can no longer come up with any decent performance drive trains and create decent sport sedans / cars. While everyone loves to shit on BMW, they have a stellar engine and tranny lineup almost across the board paired to decent suspension with the sport pack.

The long hood probably means V6 and RWD I hope. Couple that with the fact that they want to add turbos to keep MPG police happy, it could be fun. Has anyone driven the DCT in an acura? I think it looks cool. But it seems like concept cars are a few years out and that car doesn't look like a 2024 model to me. What do I know though... |
