My cousin swears he can beat me..
My cousin has a 2002 Celica GTS, manuel..etc. He has about 187 horsepower. He swears up and down that he can beat me. What do you all think? I should race him.. BUT only if i know i can win.
He said his car is lighter (yea i know), and can outhandle me.. WHICH I THINK IS .

Race him...do away with DSC/DTC, left foot brake (HARD), rev to 2500, then release the brake and floor it. That's probably the only way you'll win, as automatics are pretty lazy off the line.

Yes, just race him. Nothing to lose. He won't stand a chance:

Bella race him in the twisties from the Apple Pie run. I've seen you drive and let's just say you're "ballsy".
I'm sure he won't be able to hang with you in those twisties.

Well my cousin works for toyota and has been driving sticks his whole life, so as for the better driver, yea hes probably got the edge on me. But like mava said, if i take him on the same twisty roads form the meet, id take him..
Hmm..his car is light, i think thats the only way he can beat me. But he weighs 110 lbs more than me haha.

Okay 0-60 times both are pretty much the same. The E90 will definitely beat the Celica in the quarter mile though. But the celicas and MR2's handle pretty damn well so unless you really know how to drive, twisty roads might not work in your favor.

I have a 2000 Celica GT-S. I ran 14.9 stock and 14.4 with Intake, exhaust, flywheel and clutch so it could be close. It is hard to drive though as you have to stay above 6000 rpms between shifts which is not easy to do. But he has a 2002 and you ahould beat him because his revlimiter is 7600 as opposed to mine which is 8400 rpms. I think we have too many fanboys here as I am an owner and can attest to what the car can do.

Very true. After I put the JDM Trd full suspension on my car along with a rear sway bar the cars handling was amazing trust me.

Im not too sure about that as once your moving in the GT-S you are always in the high cam and the car is 2500 lbs so it really moves out on the highway.

Hey, Bella - just don't end up like those two UCSD students who died off of Genessee a couple days ago driving too fast in an '01 bimmer.
Hey, mava - I recently decided that I'll be getting an S2000 when I move out of Cali. I was wondering what you think about those aftermarket hardtops you can buy for the S2000 - in upstate NY it will be snowy for up to 5 months and I think I'll be leaning on one of those...
