my first computer.....an Apple Color Classic.....
I paid $1,000 for it........I think it was 1993....w/ a 13" monitor.... and the best part: The hard drive was 80MB! I sold it a couple of years ago....to a neighbor for $20!

I had a genuine apple 2 plus in 1985 with 48K ram with a monochrome monitor and two Mitac Floppy (5 1/4") drives and a Manessman Tally ribon printer. That was THE machine of it's day . My graduation project (I have a degree in Computer Tech) was a, then pioneering, 1200 bauds (phase moduloation) modem using brand new EXAR chips. We've come a long way since the 6502 processor. I use to run my electric trains with it until 5 years ago when it crapped out and I coud'nt find any parts for it.

I heard on NPR that the next-gen iPod will have a hollogram projector that you will need special glasses to see!
Then the guy said April Fools....

I remember playing "Oregon Trail" and "Where in the World is Carmen San Diego", on those monochrome apple computers in elementary.
