Do you feel weird when taking pics of your car?

I get self-conscious when I do it so it's not weird to feel weird I guess.

Hehehehe, its funny you mentioned that. The first time I took pictures of my car, I was driving up the Palasades Parkway and stopped at one of the "scenic view" spots to take a picture. When I first stopped, it was totally deserted. By the time I got out of my car, three other cars pull up and park right next to me!
I backed out of the spot and drove to the other end and the exact thing happened again; two more cars came and parked next to me. I ended up driving to two other "scenic view" spots before I could take the pictures without a bunch of people sitting there watching me. The only time I've taken pictures of my car since then was just after a snow storm. I figured it would look like I'm taking pictures of the snow and not my car.

I feel weird especially because I feel people might think I am full of myself ...
I think, to be able to set up the shots nicely, you have to go out of your way to some remote location ... I'd wager that our resident photo-artists such as diesel, femme, nikki et al work better without peple around ... if you look at their works the locations are pretty isolated...it also works that these locations are prime settings as well.

I've only taken pictures of my car once and there were lots of people around.
I didn't feel weird. I have to believe people see more interesting things in the course of an average day then some guy taking pictures of his new car. |

Put your family inside the car and have them wave. You can always photoshop them out later.

I feel really wierd. I am itching to take some pictures next to the lake at my apartment complex, but I feel everyone will be looking and thinking I'm nuts.
It's bad enough everytime I'm outside cleaning my car my neighbor yells "missed a spot!" This reason is why I miss my parents' house back in CT....its about 1000 ft from the road!

I like shots of my car in urban settings ie: parking garages, bridges, and places like that, basically any where urban. The only problem is Security guards, Thugs, and just people in general make it difficult for me to concentrate.
