The Old Guard on Netflix
Just started watching The Old Guard starring Charline Theron on Netflix.
For those of an age it reminds me of The Highlander from way back when. Lots of blood and guts with a bit of social commentary, really enjoying and would recommend. |

Yep, son and I watched it when it came out. We both enjoyed it. It did remind me of the Highlander series in parts.
We had fun identifying the weapons used. |

It was entertaining, a bit absurd but it's just a movie. There is a mindset in Hollywood that everything needs to be a series and I'd watch the next installment.

I was relaxing and watching this movie earlier after spending the entire morning doing lawn work.
I wasn't able to finish it unfortunately since the Mrs has other plans ....... other than relaxing ?? |

What's old is new again. Definitely very Highlander-like but the soundtrack from Queen on the Highlander is unbeatable.
I enjoyed it and they are definitely setting it up for a sequel or a series. I like the premise and the execution!

Movie was ok. The iron maiden torture really kept coming to my mind as I kept imagining how horrible that experience would be. I kept thinking it was kind of shitty of Andy to have only spent decades looking for Quynh then give up when they presumably have been together for centuries. Especially when the new girl comes along and describes visions of Quynh’s torment which would’ve indicated that she was still alive this whole time.

But wasn't it a surprise when Quynh showed up at Bookers place? I'm not a fan of the Marvel Series but look forward to the next installment of The Old Guard.

Yes and no. My initial thought when they put Quynh in the iron maiden and into the water was that shit’s going to corrode away with enough time. Then when she shows up I was like, ahh so she does get out. Be interesting to see if she plays a good guy or a villain.
