Jeff - where in SD you at, how big of a game would you like, and do you also have any additional heads down with you? I have a small, elite group of sharks that normally get together once a month.

umm a lot of my poker friends left and work hella weird hours. i live near state and i have enogh room for a 6 -8 person max game. i could get a bigger game going if i had a bigger table, but all i have is one of those fold out felt tables and 2x500 chip set. any suggestions? ive only been playing at novice levels in recent years, but playing with better people always helps out.

DJKobi - I hope you been playing tourney style. If not, you can always drive the 35 minutes to Viejas in the eastern deserts and play there - the cash payouts are quite big compared to the lowly 12-25 buy-in ($1,000 gauranteed on all tourneys). If you don't play tourney-style, they have public rake games.
A good way to build your skill is to play against those real gamblers. They don't skimp out on the money. Hold em used to be fun for me until the day I started to play only for money, not for fun. That's why I don't play against friends anymore because it's pointless - I like to shark against non-friends and if my friends are down, we'll split the earnings Rounders style. They never find out, of course.

Any of you guys play at Sycuan? My friend played at a tourny there a couple of weeks ago and placed high enough that he get to go back and play in the July WSOP satellite tournament for a seat at the main event.
Oh, here's a good hawaiian garden story. A friend of mine was at hg last year playing at the no limit table. I forgot what his hand was but he got a bad beat, the jackpot was $100,000 and his share was $60,000!!! Here's the kicker though, he's underaged, and when they checked his ID they realize it was fake... He's lucky he made it out of that place alive.

yeah tournament style is usually the way to go when i play home games. hey i dont mind if you come and take my 10 dollars, for me its better than going to a casino and losing 100-200, and learn the same poker lessons. plus i figure since we all have e90's losers can basically mill around checking out eachother's ride haha (which will probably be me). so its part car meet, part drinking beer, part playig poker. win win win. if enough of u are interested ill try to set something up.. i got me and 2 friends that are down, so maybe 6-8 more?

I'm in, I'm sure I can get at least 3 more guys to play too, as long as its on the weekend. Home games are cool cuz we usually dont play too seriously. Tourny style home game is not as much fun because once you're out, you're just sitting there itching to get back in. So we usually just end up allowing rebuys.

ok ill set something up...weekend, most likely sunday afternoon. im not sure about this weekend, i was hoping for a thrus night game. BTW, does anyone have one of those felt poker tables covers? i have one, but if we have more than 6-7 people, we'll need to set up two tables. I have one felt poker cover. i mean of course we could deal with it, im just asking. so whos in Thrus night? at least 10 dollar buy in 1-2 re-buys max (depending on where the game is and what time it is). more official rules to be made with a group concensus. and my house is near sdsu, however its a very nice house, given that im only 23. im surounded by retired old people and families with minivans and camry's so its safe. im down to get this thing going and host it so get back at me.
