Attending the F1 in Monaco this year was supposed to be my 60th Birthday celebration. I'm seriously pissed about this.

Anyone besides me much more drawn in by Crash-n-spin than the actual race? If only I could place bets on his “adventures” this weekend.

2008 Monaco GP.....
We sat in Casino Square in a raised seating area with a view of the cars entering Casino Square and coming straight at us; the Casino was nearly directly in front of us and the Casino Hotel was to our right; there was a large tv screen directly in front of us so we could see action at other areas of the track; it rained the first 1/3, a dry line was being established the second 1/3 and then it was WFO the last 1/3....HAM was in his second yr in F1 and won the race; it was simply frightful to see HAM flat out through Casino Square....just inches from the Armco guardrails; oh....the sound of 18,000+ RPM F1 cars echoing throughout the principality....

2008 Monaco GP Trip....

After a week in Tuscany, we took the train to Venice for a few nights before traveling to Nice and using this city as the link via train for the Monaco GP....

After a night of dining and wine in Venice, we were walking down a side street and my wife said...."is that a Ferrari Store?"....in the middle of Venice on very small streets we found this....and Michael Schumacher's Scuderia Ferrari F1 car in the window....

Greetings MKSixer!
You're welcome....it was surreal stepping off the train from Nice on race day....100,000+ arriving for the GP; an interesting note regarding our physical tickets....we had to go to a redemption center where we had to show a ton of ID and supporting documentation that we had bought the tickets on-line before they gave us the actual tickets; I still have the official program and t-shirt!

Thanks for sharing Bruce!
I've never been to the Monaco GP but I was at the 2008 and 2010 Singapore GP.
I remember the sound of these cars in between the high rises was so loud, people got literally sick from it.

In 2010 we travelled with a baby and even in the hotelroom at the 22nd floor with all windows closed the noise was unbearable.

CRAZY!
It must have been deafening!
The Singapore street race must be incredible; isn't the humidity unbearable? Can you slip in a few photos for us??

This was the case at the German GP in 2012. We were in the Mercedes Grandstand as guests of Mercedes and had suite access but the sound was still deafening. The upshifts and downshifts were brutal and so many people had to retreat inside to survive the entire 3 days. I LOVED IT!!
