Anyone here a DISH customer?
Here in Colorado, we haven't had channel 9 (NBC) for a couple of months now because of yet another pissing match DISH is having with a provider....and we the customer are caught in the middle. This, after we lost HBO last year....
To top it all off, our bill went up over $50 this month. I called and after a looooooooong hold, I finally spoke to a rep who told me they were going to have to transfer me to another queue and guess what? There was a 30 minute wait for that queue. We've been a subscriber for over 20 years - time to tell them to F off. Now I have to get into the whole "cut the cord" and streaming thing... Anyone else frustrated with DISH? |

I used to be. Went to streaming video years ago and have saved a bundle plus I can hop around to various services month to month. Only way to fly.

I never had Dish but I was a longtime Xfinity(Comcast) customer and recently cut the cord because I was so tired of their BS. Bills kept getting higher and higher and they STILL require people to sign 2 year contracts for the privilege of getting a so-called discount. I would've cut the cord long ago but I really didn't have any viable choices that would have provided me with something better until AT&T laid a fiber network in my community. Jumped all over that once my contract with Xfinity expired and haven't looked back since. Soooo much better. Even AT&T's customer service has been superior which I didn't expect.

Have heard of DISH having some problems with stations over the years. Particular channels telling its customers to quit DISH because of one thing or another.
Almost wish I had DISH so I would be more motivated to cut the cord. Have had Spectrum for more than 30 years and while it is expensive it's been a pretty good service for me. |

I dropped Dish for the same reasons. I switched to Hulu Live and haven't looked back.

So far I've been satisfied with Hulu Live TV. It was either that or YouTube TV but for some reason there's some spat between Roku and Google (owner of YouTube) and doesn't allow the use of the YouTube app on a Roku device, at least not if you're a new Roku user. That was a no-no for me since I've got a few Roku devices I use at home. I was also a previous Hulu subscriber so I figured it's a bit cheaper to stick with them for my live television needs.
The best part about all of this is you're not locked into any contract and can cancel at any time for no reason. You won't get that with the likes of Dish probably and certainly not Comcast. The old school cable companies really need to get with the program and understand there are many more options available to consumers nowadays. Now, I will say this. Depending on the bandwidth you have at home available to you, it will definitely impact the quality of viewing as well as the quality of web meetings you may be engaging in for work like I do. I didn't realize the importance of upload speeds (fiber is symmetrical) until I got my fiber service (gigabit service level) installed. Big difference. |

I've gone from verizon, to spectrum, dish network, and now Hulu.
Dish was great to a certain year then it just got progressively worse Verizon no issues just pricey Spectrum was hassle-free and great value. Get your equipment delivered or get it same day in person. When you want to switch simply return the equipment and you're out. Only complaint was the guide looking a little outdated and not super friendly to navigate through (at the time I had it) Hulu live is where I happily sit now. |

One negative about Hulu's cloud DVR is a sort of big one and that is you can't skip or fast forward through ads. I think if you pay like an extra 10 bucks you can get rid of that annoyance though. That upgrade gives you up to 200 hours of recordings and allows fast forwarding through ads. It may or may not be worth it to you. EDIT: I forgot to mention the DVR upgrade also accommodates unlimited simultaneous recordings. |

the only reason I still use dish, is because 1080HD receiver with recorder are dirt cheap used, dish you will find them in the garbage, and you can split the bill.
The dumb receiver are the best for recording, yes you have the schedule, but the receiver is dumb enough to let ou skip the ads. Newer receiver won't let you skip certain type of ads Super easy to install too. Ive managed to get 5 receiver on 1 account, and those receivers are at friends/family house. They can't trace the location of the receiver. 200 base channels + 15 paid that you can swap easily on internet 13$/month / person, tx-in. Not bad for 215 channels and a HDD recorder. expensive indeed if alone, 56.99$ , came up to 65$/ month. If 2or 3 person drop into the pot, Ill drop and get a steaming service for sure |

I have 2 wire dsl which AT&T calls Uverse in our neighborhood and get great video quality.
I'm also getting youtube on the Roku app. and watch it all the time free with a few commercials. I'm guessing I've saved $8 to 10 thousand dollars since cutting the cord. |

We had Dish, with relatively few issues, when our only Internet option was DSL. Once we moved to a house with high speed Internet, we dropped Dish and started streaming. We have Hulu Live, Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime services, which is at least two too many (Diz is for the grandkids). But no service problems and no concern about the pissing matches between Dish/DirectTV and the channels.

I'm going back to satellite / cable after 2 years of 'streaming.' I couldn't take dealing with the crappy YouTube TV app and they keep jacking up the price. It's now almost $100 a month.

At my ranch it’s Dish or nothing live.
Cell service sucks, so that is not an option.

DirecTV customer since 2004. The AT&T years were rough, but now that they've spun it off into a standalone company (though still owning 60% of it), service seems to be stabilizing again. At least they don't have these constant fee disputes with various channels/networks like Dish has. You might wanna give DirecTV a shot - new customer pricing is insanely good. 2 years down the road, they yank it and you have to fight with them to get it reduced to something resembling the promo rates.
