Baked my First Banana Bread
I'm a good cook and consider it a hobby. Baking is in its own right, not only different but unique and not as simple. Especially when you bake from scratch.
Recipes can call for mixing ingredients separately and then combining or blending for a very specific time to avoid or undesired effects. that being said, I LOVE baked goods!!! Cakes, Pies, Cookies etc. I have a very nice Kitchen Aid stand Mixer that I've only used a handful of times. Banana Bread is similar to cake but it's much denser but closer to cake than bread. So I came across a simple enough but tasty sounding recipe that I tweaked based on my taste preferences: Added Pecans and Walnuts instead of just one. I doubled the vanilla extract, a dash of salted Caramel Crown Royal and slightly more baking powder for more flufiness. I also added Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips. The results were truly mouth watering delicious! My wife and teenagers loved it.

I love Banana Bread. It always gives me a laugh too, my ex-work-wife wouldn't ever give me any unless I asked for a piece of "Pan de Guineo" and said it perfectly. It always took me at least 6 tries
![]() Enjoy your Pan de Guineo, it looks delicious. ![]()

I was always told you can be a good chef but suck at baking and vice versa. One is totally precise measurements and the other is nilly willy. This was also compared to Algebra and Geometry. Rarely was someone good at both, it was sort of one or the other type.
Good job TX! |

My step-daughter makes an excellent banana bread. You’ll have to provide a sample for comparison. You know, science. PM for address.
My ex baked me banana bread when we were dating and I was off at college. It arrived approx two weeks after mailing, and was somewhat green and fuzzy. Did not partake. |

That said, I think I'm a better baker than cook, but I certainly don't excel at either. |

To everyone who doesn't know the first thing about baking or cooking, give making banana bread a go.
My wife is a high-end chef so there isn't any point in me making food, but I couldn't let a few old bananas go to waste and gave this a try. Literally the simplest thing to make and always comes out delicious! |

Well done, TX!
Love me some banana bread! It's tasty, easy to make & customize, and a great way to make use of old bananas. It doesn't hold well in the desert, though. :/
