I went there maybe a few weeks before 9/11 and it was iiiight. However, maybe a lot has changed in the 21 years since I’ve been there but since it’s her idea, happy wife, happy life so go for it.

Sure, this time of the year its pretty dead. But worth the time.
I will be there next month in Wellfleet for oyster fest. I can drive there but I might stay down for a night or two, just to save some time in the car. Some cool beaches if you know where to look. Since you are from FL bring warm clothing, the wind and cold can be pretty bad depending where you are. Esp on the eastern "forearm".

My wife and I went there back in September 2015. I'm guessing we just missed a lot because we walked away with these as the self-guided tour highlights...

Dinner in Provincetown is nice. Google knows the restaurants.
Walk the beach, it’s nice in the evening even in the colder months. Dress for the conditions. The Cape is a nice box to check, but cold season is not when it is at its best. |

Mid Nov rates will be cheap but many posh places will be closed. It's a seasonal place. Gal and I went two weeks ago and the weather was cool at best while my house it was 15 degrees warmer.
Where do you plan to visit while there and stay? |

there's a reason addiction is a HUGE problem on the cape with year round residents.
Because one of the few things to do there in November is heroin |

I have a feeling that Cape Cod is about to get over-run by a wave of Canadian refugees fleeing the devastation from Hurricane Fiona.....

Today she asked me about New Hampshire. What she really wants is to travel to a beautiful city that has seasons so she can experience the beauty of fall. We don't get much of that here in Florida. I grew up in Florida, met her in California, you can kind of experience fall in California if you go to the mountains. But we have a house in the mountains of NC.
So anything along those lines, seasonal, cold is fine, worth traveling to cities, towns, whatever? |

Don't know much about Cape Cod but look into Newport Rhode Island. We had a BLAST there. So relaxing, so many amazing mansions to tour, so many great restaurants and shops.
Loved this place: https://www.castlehillinn.com/ |

I live an hour from the Cape - it's beautiful there now but mid-November, maybe not so much. Weather could be nice, but could also be very raw. Newport is a better bet but is still not a sure thing. What about Anapolis?

Depending on how long the trip is, hit Newport (there are some awesome mansions, great road to drive on and a few car museums), then drive to the cape, not too far, hit a few beaches, then take a cruise up to NH stay a night or two in each place.
I like to drive so for me this would be a cool trip in my opinion.

Ugh New Hampshire. Would not recommend. Depressing little state.
It's a bit far and out of the country but Quebec City is beautiful in the winter. Lots of charm, history, great food, and things to do/see. |
