Whats everyones thoughts on the Cape York Green color?

Whats everyones thoughts on the Cape York Green color?

I have only seen it under non sunlight conditions and to me it looked dull. However alot of videos of this color it comes off as gorgeous depending on if there is sunlight or not.

Maybe some photos of said color would help. I like green as a rule but a few shades just don't work.

Good, luxurious, light jewel tone.
I think would look good on X7 and XM

Wasn't there a 4 series in this color a few years back? Wasn't around very long. Kinda reminded me of the old Ford Turquoise. Looked nice.

Edit: It was 3 series, Blue Ridge Mountain Metalic.

BRMM is still available on X7 and others.
CYG looks great on the new X1. It's not flashy, and not really "sporty" but interesting as a rather unique color in a rather boring palette from BMW.

It all depends on what you you're using it.

I can only visualize this color on a SUV and frankly with all of the other colors that BMW offers I find CYG boring.

The color actually looks beautiful, but it depends on the person because we all have preferences and various ways of seeing things.

Not sure which model you are considering and if you want to spend the additional money for an individual color and that this green color is offered for the car you are looking at but this week I saw an M5 Competition in Individual Verde Ermes Pearl Metallic that my service advisor owns and it looked awesome! Here is an online photo from the BMW personalizing page for individual colors but the car looked even prettier in person on a sunny day!

PS, and off topic, the sound coming from the M5 Competition's sport exhaust gave me goose bumps!

Historically, in the US, any shade of green has been the worst selling color. Lease or own it for the long term.

Color grew on me

I have a 530i w/Cape York Green and honestly wasn’t crazy about it on the showroom floor. It was dark outside when I test drove the car and under the showroom lights it looked almost gray, but like a flat gray, which I hate. Anyway, dealership offered me a good deal, because they couldn’t find one in the color I wanted (black), so I bought it. The next day when I saw it in the sunlight, it looked completely different in a good way. Since then, I’ve grown to really like it and get more compliments on this car/color than any car I’ve had before.

I like green.

This particular green doesn’t do a lot for me, at least as it appears in the photo. It’s too gray.

I went with this color and am glad I did. SO sick of white, black, silver, and gray as the only colors you see on cars these days. I’ve got a few pics in my garage listing in my profile.

I just bought my in-laws an X1 in this color and they love it. It's a really nice and unique color for sure:

It definitely a chameleon color.

There is only one person that has to love it and thats you.

I was looking at Arctic Race Blue on my m440i which was nice but I didn't love it. I had to get my by far favorite color for me Portimao Blue. Every time I see my PB I love it and would have regretted getting ARB because it didn't pop for me.

Guess the 1970’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s are prehistory?

My grandmother had a metallic green Chevy circa 1975 and I had a green VW Jetta.

I did say it was the worst selling not that it didn't sell. Sales numbers are what they are

Here are actual sales figures (full article here) in support of the claim that green was in fact far from the worst-selling color until 15 or so years ago:
