What's your favorite feature of X1

Hello proud new owners of X1

What is the feature you like the most on your X1‘s? (and which are your least favorite)?

I think I might have to vote for the Sport Seats. I loved them in my F30, and they are great on the X1 too.

Funny! Why the sport badges?

Wife went standard seats as it was the only way to get non-leather. I‘m wondering how they perform. They seem to provide good support. I‘ll compare them to my F31s too 😎

I don't mind the HVAC controls because I usually leave it set at 68* in Very Low, just like in my prior car.

BUT the heated steering wheel and seats not having a dedicated hard button is super annoying. Steering wheel heat button should be on the steering wheel ... period. The best way to use the heated seats is to put them on Very High to heat them up quick, and then turn them down. Having to enter the HVAC screen and then adjust the heat for the wheel and the seats, and then go back to whatever screen you are on .... twice ... is just bad design. And plenty of other car makers have been called out for doing this for years, so it's not like BMW wasn't on notice that people don't like this set up.

Can you use voice commands to manage the HVAC functions?

Yes, temp, fan speed, steering heating level can all be voice controlled.

There’s a bit of delay as the voice assistant thinks though. It’s actually still just a bit faster to use the touchscreen.

Like the looks and the tech. Being able to use my phone as a key.

Hate how apple carplay gps don't work, no lumbar support on the sport seats, steering wheel doesn't get hot at all, lack of central console storage, wireless charging sucks if you're using carplay, auto parking has almost made me hit parked cars if I didn't intervene, shuddering/shaking of steering wheel/car when creeping at low speeds, 360 and backup camera not very accurate when you're trying to see things really really close to the car, good amount of lag from flooring and acceleration.

As you can see, I get caught up on the things I dislike more than I like lol.

My favorite feature is the digital key. Makes things so much easier for me.

Least favorite feature is the horn honk if you leave the car with the engine running. Runner up is the Auto start/stop. I’m hoping these can be coded out eventually.

I don’t know why when I first saw it I didn’t like it in videos, and when I got the car and I saw it in real life it grew on me

We are very happy with the aesthetics and engineering effort that has gone into the 2023 X1 which so far has been a pleasure to drive. One of my favourite features is the implementation of the one piece curved cockpit displays along with the ID8 operating system. We are so used to using touch screen menus on our iphones and laptops that the transition to the technology in this car was a breeze.

The two times I’ve tried the Parking Assistant it was horrible, I’m hesitant to use it again.

Lumber support exists on sport seats - you just don’t have they do have if u order
Auto park is risky not only on X1,i am having g30lci and its the same so dont blame the x1
Shaking of car on low speeds? - is the car ok,that is not normall for any car…
Center storage - yeah i agree kind of wrong concept - they could have added a not al armrest with the same console so u can store all kind of stuff

Lumbar support did not exist when I ordered mine, and official materials were unclear if it would come with it or not.

The shaking he is talking about is most likely due to the clutch engagement on the DCT, I can feel it too under certain low speed conditions.

Do you not feel that it's a little more excessive than other vehicles you've driven? Is it just a poorer clutch or something they should address?

I’ve never owned a car with DCT before, and other than my f32 I’ve never owned an automatic. So I’m not sure if it’s excessive or not, but I do notice it. I will say I expected the paddle shifters to actually shift faster than they do.
