Easily the prettiest of its type in that era. I wish there was a version of this modernized but similar styling.

Well the M1 Hommage concept from 15 years ago could've been that.

https://www.bmw-m.com/en/topics/maga...1-hommage.html

Instead they make the XM lmao

And the M4 CS, M4 CSL, M3 CS, M3 touring etc. Don’t forget about those. And the fact that the M-SUVs paved the way for BMW to continue making those cars.

Exactly, our M cars wouldn't exist without profitable SUVs.

Such an iconic ‘disaster’. Don’t think the XM will enjoy similar status.

Solely, BMW wants to make money. It's the revised first sentence in their mission statement that was implemented under the new regime.

Tried this, several years ago. Took inspiration from the original; did it because I was literally frustrated by the fact BMW presented that midengined half orange painted thing called concept which was looking... safe.

Cammisa does such a great job entertaining and informing. Best part however was the simple video at the end of just the car being driven and letting the sound of the motor sing all alone.

I'm worried they'll never get back to any sort of design language close to what we love.
