Ambient Lighting in Footwell?

In most videos that I have seen the lights in the front and rear footwell are just regular LEDs that do not match the colour of the ambient lighting in the rest of the car. The video below shows it with ambient lighting. Is it like this in all markets?

My ambient lighting is the color I set when I open the door, before the car starts

that's what I thought. been a long time since I saw it on the dealer's X1 demo at night

I wonder if it's another case of US vs. European differences. I looked at several 2023 X1 night interior videos and the ambient lighting didn't seem to behave the same way, depending on US/Canada or Eruope/rest of the world versions. Although I'm not sure anymore.

I think when you first open the car the footwells are white but the ambient colours on the dash are whatever colour it’s set too.

However get in and start it up and the footwells are the same colour as the dash is. Would have to check but think that is the same on all BMWs but not ever really tested it. Might be in some markets when a door is opened they are white for extra visibility or some other law compliance, again never been bothered to check.
