Aftermarket sound deadening — worth it?

Curious. Has anyone done aftermarket sound deadening for these U11 X1 cars? Or even the newer generation X3 cars.

Sound of doors closing could use some improvement. So just wondering if anyone has managed to tighten up the sounds a bit and potentially reduce wind/road noise through the doors with Dynamat and/or additional rubber strips. Want to see if it’s worth the trouble … Thanks

I asked a similar question in another thread a few weeks ago after I was looking for BMW X1 videos on YouTube. I don't speak Chinese, but Google Translate said something about the owner having that shop do the sound insulation for a brand new iX1 in Taiwan?

Since you're in Hong Kong, can you speak the Chinese that they speak in Taiwan? If so, can you tell us what they are talking about in that video? Thanks!

Interesting. Didn’t even realize this existed. Anyway, seems like it’s just a video from one of the local installers. It didn’t really do any comparison on noise level.

These shops are quite popular in Hong Kong as well. They typically charge something in the neighbor of 1.5 to 2k USD for jobs involving wheel wells and parts of the floor/door. Just not sure if it’s worth the risk of having these shops taking the car apart lol
