Hello, so as far as I have been told and have read up on, it seems the battery in these cars are having a lot of issues, which will then usually likely lead to having some other function issues/faults.

I had my brand new m35i go in for service for a battery replace warning and then to find out the VANOS solenoids were sticking which was a result from the battery cell being dead.

The car is almost whole heartedly dependent on electronics now to stabilize major systems but iDrive and drive systems are independent of one another (you can hard reset while driving and the modes and settings for drive remain the same) though I would not recommend doing this as you lose all visibility on speed/tach and any other critical info you might need atm.

The dealer should replace under warranty, mine did all work under warranty and noted that it was an issue before the car left port.

Thanks. Will see what garage says. Not overjoyed as our last new car had issues after 5 weeks and I’ve had this 6 weeks. I’m not doing very well am I!

man, tell me about it, there was another issue with the car in another thread some where, but then this came up which really just takes the joy out of the "new car purchase experience" really deflated it all.

Which for a first time buyer (owned a pre-owned 1 series back in the day so I don't count it.) really left a negative impression of the brand on my mind. Sad, really.

I have the same message/problem. Purchased a new X7 760i on 11/30 and drove 24 miles home from the dealership. Started it the next day and got the message, Drive carefully. Power supply. I drove the X7 for about 80 miles yesterday. Message still there. Back to the dealership on Monday. Very disappointed.

My check engine light came on tonight as well. Initially I assumed that I didn’t put the gas cap back on correctly, but it seems to be more than that. I’ve had it for 3 weeks now, so I am also pretty disappointed. Traded in my X3 for this and it never had an issue.

Car STILL in garage

Well it’s been at dealers for 3 weeks now and they’re not great at communicating with me. Latest is part may arrive in January. Meanwhile I’m in an old rental car. Really not very happy as only had the car 5/6 weeks before it went wrong.

apparently BMW is still have issues with parts shortage.

my electronic parking brake is making noise that's annoying most of my neighbors.(not that I blame them, it is very loud) BMW ordered 3 parts last months. 2 parts arrived and the last one was supposed to arrive last Thursday via special order from Germany. It never arrived. I was told that it was not available even in Germany and the estimated arrival date is December 26.(yes, the day after Christmas) I'm almost positive that it won't be here on time.

the service manager gave me a $25 Starbucks gift card for the inconvenience.(although it's not really the dealership's fault)

A similar situation for you then. It’s so frustrating isn’t it. I’d be a bit less mad if the dealer were more interested in keeping me informed.

I've never lived in the UK, so I don't know how customers are treated over there... but here in the US, a lot of companies simply throw some money at the customer to keep them from complaining or post negative Google reviews. (sad but true)
