Coding A Headlight???
I was in a wreck and I had to get my passenger side headlight replaced on my 2015 328i. The headlight is the same type as the one that was damaged I have ista + , a obd / enet cable and wifi connection.
Update: So I just ran a diag using ista and I got these faults: 804193 SIDE LIGHT R 804195 LOW BEAM R 804197 DAYTIME R 80419B HIGH BEAM R 80419D TURN INDICATOR R 804872 BRAKE LIGHT L Apparently there is short circuit any fixes??? |

Unfortunately no the whole unit had to be replaced -side note I checked all the associated fuses hood trunk and passenger side and they seem to be fine in addition the headlight and components are the same as the one that was damaged the new headlight was tested on the driver side and was fully functional Last edited by littlessince86; 03-25-2024 at 02:38 PM.. |

Yeah that's what i originally thought too that's why I downloaded ista p, but when I ran the diagnostic it actually came back as a short circuit. Also the unit was tested on the other side before installing and it worked perfectly so I'm thinking it may actually be a wiring issue also both headlights are halogen, but thank you for the info and I'm actively seeking someone to install a new wiring harness to see if that helps |

The need to code a headlight is a perfect example of German over-engineering.
