Went in for a surface clean in the engine bay and did some looking and noticed the intake resonator looks nearly identical to the jcw (I know it’s the same car) does anyone think the resonator delete pipe from the jcw would fit the m35i?

I bought the Dinan resonator delete air intake pipe, and I bought the stock OEM air intake pipe w/ resonator off eBay from a wrecked X1. This way I didn't have to disassemble my cowl to find out if it was a compatible replacement. Anyway, it's not compatible. The diameter is different, and there's an attachment for a sensor that's very different. I sent the new pipe back to Dinan. I also sent the OEM pipe I bought, asking them to use it to help develop a pipe for ours.

This is what also scares me about the F39 downpipe. What would be worse than it being very different -- is if it was only marginally different.
