Hmmm - I have iDrive 9 and this "navigation widget" was there for me since day 1 I got the car (with version 11/23 on it) ... or am I wrong ?

You’re correct. I have iDrive 8 and have had this clock since day one as well. Not sure what the update is about.

There is also no mention of the remote parking option. Hoping this will be available for iDrive 8 as well

Yes, I read briefly about this remote parking option as well in another thread - this has been restricted to 5 series and higher end cars so far.

Would be so cool if this was coming! Only on Tuesday have I been in a situation where this would have been useful as someone had parked very close by…

Do you have any relevant news on that?

They’ve opened it to the new X1s. You can order the option “parking assistant pro” and in a statement they said that this would be coming to the connected drive store. It’s just a matter of when for iDrive 9, and hopefully this also comes to iDrive 8.

Interesting that in the German version of update's highlights its mentioned that Efficient mode will be allowed to be set as Start-up mode. I prefer it for most of my drives, not because its efficient, but because its UI color scheme is blue and not brown/salmon.

New features would be a plus BUT when the new July software upgrade hits Global, including the USA, I’m hoping it finally resolves many of the crazy quirks/flaws of the ID9. That’s where the BMW Software engineers should be spending their time & efforts. Otherwise it’s like they say “putting 💄 lipstick on a 🐖 pig.

The 07/2024 update is for all versions (including idrive 7 etc), but not all features are applied to all versions. The fine print will tell you if specific features are only available for 8.5 and/or 9.

As far as I know, you can't force the updates. It seems to be hit or miss who gets it at release, and who gets it once the server deems it's okay for you to have it. Honestly a bit annoying because it doesn't seem to be regional dependent.

I don't think it has rolled out yet OTA. You can only get it from a dealer for now.

Installed as we left the car last night, so no idea what's new till we next drive it.

I think in addition to the 07/2024 update, we will also have to wait for BMW to release it to the connected drive store…might be a while 🥲

my dealer finished the brake recall yesterday. the tech also updated my X1 with ID8 to 07/2024 software.

during the previous update, most of my personal settings(seat, mirrors, shortcuts, light colors and others) got wiped clean and I had to start fresh. this time with the 07/2024, all of my personal savings were untouched as far as I can tell.

If you have Parking Assistant Plus, do you see any mention in Drive Store about upgrading to Parking Assistant Pro? Or BMW will wait for the OTA one to flip the switch and add it to the store.

I have Parking Assistant Plus as part of the Premium package.

Just checked the Store and don't see anything about upgrading to Pro. I'm in the US, so maybe they don't plan to offer it here? (although I know they do offer the upgrade to "Pro" for the G31 new 5-series)

Mine was updated during a maintenance service at the dealership. It looks to me that the air conditioning options have changed: before, in the air conditioning menu, I could change the speed/power from very weak, weak, etc... (Or very low, low .. I have it in French, not sure what is the exact translation in English), and on the right I could choose between balanced or dynamic.
Now, the speed has been changed to numbers, 1, 2, etc. and on the right, I can choose from where the air will blow, feet, middle or windshield. It also looks like that the air conditioning is much quieter now, which I appreciate very much.

Another thing that I have noticed is that the option to automatically activate the parking break when turning off the car gets automatically disabled from time to time. A bit annoying.
