Edit: Longshoremen Strike went into effect October 1st at midnight at East Coast Ports. Dockworkers at ports from Maine to Texas went on strike. It’s closed down shipments in & out of 14 ports: Baltimore; Boston; Charleston, South Carolina; Jacksonville, Florida; Miami; Houston; Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans; New York/New Jersey; Norfolk, Virginia; Philadelphia; Savannah, Georgia; Tampa, Florida; and Wilmington, Delaware.

Back in 1977, the last time there was such a strike, it lasted 45 days. Its being said now that for each day of a longshoreman strike it would require between four to six days of catchup work to get operations back on track.

THAT IS DISASTROUS IN SO MANY WAYS, IN ADDITION TO DELAYED VEHICLE DELIVERIES.

So I thought the same thing. First off, my car has been sitting at the Brunswick GA facility for a week. The hurricane Helene actually caused a lot of rain but no river surges from the Turtle river. So I call the GA port authority and they gave me the name of the BMW facility in Brunswick. I called them and they said no damage from the hurricane, and if a strike is called the cars would not get off the boat, but those in the lot would be loaded on car carriers. Go figure. I hope to see the car at the dealership in a few days, I'm just not sure. It's 2025 M35.

We did stock up on some frozen vegetables and fruits at Costco !!
