Chainsaws were first invented for childbirth. It was developed in Scotland in the late 18th Century to help aid and speed up the process of symphysiotomy (widening the pubic cartilage) and removal of disease-laden bone during childbirth. It wasn’t until the start of the 20th Century that we started using chainsaws for woodchopping.

The oldest exposed rock in the world is in Canada's Northwest Territory. It's called the Acasta Gneiss. It has been dated around 4 Billion years old.

And "octopuses" is the correct plural for octopus. The often-seen "octopi" is a "false Latin plural" - people think "octopus" sounds Latin so they follow Latin pluralization rules, but the word is actually from Greek, so if you want to get all ancient on it, the plural would be "octopodes" (that's a four-syllable word), not "octopi," but in English we're not getting that crazy and "octopuses" is correct.
