mmmm espresso.
I come from Wellington, New Zealand where we have an amazingly strong coffee culture. That city is riddled with wonderful cafes serving high quality espresso coffee and we have collectively become the world's biggest coffee snobs. Belgium has frankly shit coffee generally but my life was saved when I discovered an espresso bar near my house that know what they are doing. Now it is my daily haunt. Just my thoughts on the topic PS. I categorise people who say Expresso the same as people who drown little kittens.

What can I say?? Anything good takes time...Planning...$$$ etc The Espresso Machine is just 1 part... The grinder is in many Barista's bar is considered even more important! Is amazing! It does 1 shot grinding to perfection. All electronically controlled! After the grinder and very close is the bean... One has to find a business that roasts to perfection. Obviously you have to store those beans properly, and only buy enough to use them up in a timely manner. And last but most important is the skill of the Barista! That takes a long time to perfect. All this is just another part of our very complicated lives. Who would ever think that the very best bean in the world is actually animal sh*t! http://kalyan.livejournal.com/197766.html Personally I have yet to try this coffee-sh*t. Hmmm I know it was in the movie The Bucket List with two very talented actors... LOL EspressoBoy |

I make it a practice to help others in the same way I was helped... Those that do not follow the ways of the force.... Lets just say, I would not want to mess with Yoda on even his good days... Ever see Yoda with 5 shots? Don't even go there. Ever wonder why Darth Sidious looks like that? Bad Coffee maybe?...hmmmm |

He's always had high level of participation, and generally positive, sometimes eye opening comments. But until today, I always wondered why the name ESPRESSOBOY? Now it all makes sense.
EspressoBoy, does your hair begin to look more an more like Doc as the day goes on? Best coffee....roast your own at home. SweetMarias.com You'll never go back, and for espresso, go the cheap route and buy a old skool stove top for $30. I was a barista for years, unless you have a few grand for a professional machine, I think the stove top does a better job than consumer machines. None the less, it's a combo of bean, grind, temp, pressure, and water quality. |

I agree stove top are the way to go if you are thinking to get a $200 machine. Anything under $1k is junk. I can simulate to a point on stove top by undestanking the bean, temp, heat, and a few other tricks to sort of get a ok shot, but it can't touch some of the $2k or higher end machinese for home. The big problem with Espresso at home is the pressure and control. In a coffee shop the espresso machine is running at 240 volts and the tank(s) are already to go pressured ready to make that shot(s). Home you have to work with 120 v and lower amp, along with having to heat the water for what 10 shots at most per day. Anyway that is my .2 cents. PPL wanted to know, so I posted. Nothing to do with cars but still fun. EspressoBoy (kidding photo not me but nice hair! Name that car!) |

LOL,
Squeak asks me to aim him to my humour... not an easy thing to do (actually it is). Being Canadian we quickly learn to laugh at just about everything. It is what keeps us from going crazy in those cold winter months. I was commenting on how this thread is has become much like the other thread... silverbullet135i (Senior Member clan) says: Wow, this thread...... (3 words) squeak (Padawan clan) says: agreed why o why? (almost 3 words) EspressoBoy (Jedi 1addict clan) says: could end up... (3 words) linked to this thread... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12088 The TV sitcom Seinfeld... "show about nothing" I find is too funny... Maybe these 2 threads are a bit like that? Two months ago, these threads were not here... EspressoBoy |
