7.1 surround sound...worth it?
i have a pioneer elite receiver that's 7.1 thx capable, but i've always had it running 5.1. anyone out there use 7.1? i know there isn't a whole lot of media to play that supports 7.1. my overall question is when my stereo guy comes to run wires through the walls, should i have him drop some lines for the surround sides to support 7.1 or save my money for something more useful? thanks

Even though most things don't use it, the receiver can extrapolate the rear channels based off of the rear side channels. Is it worth it, depends on the room, if you have room for two rear speakers and it works well with your layout, I would do it.
