I'm going to have to live on the street soon

My electric bill was $225 this month for a 750sq ft 1/1 apartment.

I called about it and they said that its because gas prices are rising.

Am I the only one who feels like I'm getting it in the butt from the electric company?

It costs them more money to make the electricity.

If it makes you feel any better, my electric bill regularly tops $500 during the summer months. Although we do have a 3,500 sq feet/2 story house to cool. The blazing Texas sun does not take any prisoners....

Before this increase, our electricity bill was between $120-$150 before and our neighbors that have a 2/2 1000sq ft said they were paying $70.

nikki, think you're gonna have to go to the civic or subaru board to get sympathy. IMO, if you even think about your electric bill, your E90 may a bit more than you can afford. just my 0.02

This is what it says: The main culprit is the cost of the oil and natural gas FPL needs to generate 58% of our electricity. Since 1999, the price of oil has gone up over 400% and natural gas has gone up almost 750%!! The increased fuel cost reflects the lion's share of higher electrical rates.

I guess i shouldn't say that my electricity bill last month was $18. Then again, we don't have air conditioning. But it's $18 with fans running 24/7.

Mine is $40/mo.

Yeah, the utilities are getting out of hand. My condo fees cover all utilities, but for the next 6 months I will have to pay an additional $120/mo for "energy adjustments".

They must have been living in because it must have been hot as shitza in that house.

I usually pay 80-100 per month for a 1700 Square foot townhome.

Is the electric provider industry deregulated in Florida, or is there only one provider? They recently deregulated it here in Texas, and have opened it up for competition from numerous private companies. Its a heck of a lot cheaper now with some of those providers.
