Kill Section?

A kill section in e90post? I think a lot of members would have stories to share..

I'm glad this board doesn't have it. Kill section = street racing = rice.

It's one thing for some stories of competition to get shared sporadically throughout some of the sections of e90post. It happens a lot, and if its a comparison that people actually wanted to hear about, you won't get flamed for it.

But from my experiences on other car forums, kill sections just turn into:
1) people racing slow shit and posting about it
2) the anti-street racing nazis derailing every thread with their holier than thou protesting of such reckless actions
3) someone beats something they shouldn't and then they just think you're faking anyway

I don't have an issue with one or two threads in certain sections every now and then. But a section is just a bad idea. Plus, it looks bad to people visiting the site... we're immature enough around here as it is.

IANAL, and I don't even play one on TV, but there might be legal implications to creating such a section. In our overly litigious society, those prone to barratry might see such a section as promoting street racing, an illegal activity. Should an accident brought on by some sort of forum instigated one-upsmanship occur, it wouldn't take long for the sharks to circle.

Although it would be nice if such inanity were left out of the main forums, I'd caution against the creation of such a section, if nothing else, just to keep the overzealous lawyers away.

My $0.02.

they are in a lot of other forums.. so im sure as long as they say something like "we dont endorse street racing" or something like that it would be ok.. i just thought it would be cool... also the m3 forums have it..

Have you been to bf.c's kill section?

There's absolutely no point to it, because either "you shoulda beat him, you suck", "the other driver must have sucked," or "you would have had him in the twisties."

And it always ends in feces throwing and e-peen comparisons. It's complete immature, troll-infested bullshit. I vote no.
