Z4 or 325i? Need Input!!
Hey guys! My grandfathers inheritance bought myself a 325i last year And I love it! It has a few options, (in my signature) Not loaded though, major things I wanted (cash problems) nav, sport, oh yea and a 255hp engine!
I am 21 and am on the 5 year college progam, haha, I am in year 4th right now. (I got my associates from NVCC in three) My old man just ordered a Z4 si (roadster) last week and we had been driving them for about a week trying to get a good deal on one! Loaded!!! EVERYTHING!! except M sport seats! $49k I know I am getting ahead of myself, but he dropped the idea of trading with me next year when I get out of college! I know that he will totally trade with me, just cause he does stuff like that! I am totally his favorite ! I know that is all about what I want, but I drove one last week for the first time and WOW! It is a different car then my 3, but I love it! I don't know if just the newness of the z4 or the fact it is a convertable, But driving it last week i was ready to trade right then and there! What do you guy think? Which would you rather have? my 325 (in signature) or this... 3.0si Silver Gray (I wanted sparkling graphite for my 3) Black int. black top. Alum, trim Sport Premium Step (comes with sweet paddles!!) Xenon Nav Heated Seats Headlight washers Right now my keeping the 3 isn't even in my head! Input? |

I know....but I am not planning on having any kids anytime soon! And I really don't drive if I go out with friends! ( people have sat in the back of my 3 like 3 times since I have had it!) So the two seats don't really bother me!
What about the chick car factor? The z3 was like the most femine car next to the mx-5? Anyone feel the same way about the z4? I don't! |

Anyone else feel a Z4 is a chick car?...i don't get that vibe for some reason! If you really don't need the foor door sedan, (which i don't!) which would you guys pick on looks and performance, style...ect...whatever.....I want to know what everyont thinks of the z4 roadster! I love my e90, but the Z4 is ALOT sexier and cooler to me!!

The Z4 is not a chick car, but a real girl magnet During our last photoshoot last Sunday, some passing-by girls were *pretty* intrested in the car. Was standing with the owner while the girls were going all crazy (camera phone pics etc ). My $0,02 Guillaume |

I have both, what do you want to know???
keep your eyes peeled for the deal, I got my LOADED Z4 3.0i (everything but nav) for just about 4 grand more than my 325 they friggin wheel and deal on the Z4.. Z4 handles TONS better than the E90 E90's more comfy to sit in for long periods Z4's tons quicker (my 225 hp, yours would be even better than that) |

sounds like you've been bit by the convertible bug. driving convertibles is a whole different driving experience. not for everyone, but for those that enjoy it...it's freaking awsome. you really get a sense of freedom in a convertible.
If I were in your shoes, I'd go for the Z4. bigger engine, and more fun. doesn't seem like you need to convenience of a sedan yet, so just enjoy yourself and get it out of your system. I use to own a miata, nothing like the z4, but still a fun car to drive. i had to give it up because it just wasn't practical anymore, i.e. not enough trunk space, passenger issues, etc. i agree that the z3 was sorta a chick's car, but not the Z4, not by a long shot. I guess worse case if you get tired of the Z4 in a couple of years you can trade it in for a 335i or M3.

Thanks for the insite Ward! I was thinking the exact same thing!!! I will be 22 or even 23 by the time I get it...so it really dosn't matter about insurance to me...I would find a way to pay for it, It is so kick ass!
aapriadi has the best reason...ha ha j/k already found love! thekewl1 I wasn't bit by the bug, I caught some sort of covertable disease! I really don't need four doors! When I bought my e90, I wanted a two door, but there was no way i would buy and e46 because I new that the e92 was just around the corner...and i needed a new car, so i kinda settled on my e90...Don't get me wrong, Best car i have ever owned....But since I drove that z4, it is just more fun and i feel I would enjoy my 20's alot more with that pimp baby! My old man spec'd it out exactly they way I would have wanted it...I know he did it for me, He is planning on getting a SL in two years, so this isn't his "big car puchase"! Thanks for all your input guys! Which will hold value better 325 or z4.....Not for me, i don't really care, but If we swap cars in two years what do you think a 3 year old e90 would go for....more than the 2 year old z4? my 325i $38k old mans Z4 $48k |

considering that the e90 325i will be discontinued in 07 for the 328i, the resale on the 325i's will probably take a big hit....
