Canada Preparation Delivery Centre
My vehicle is due to arrive in Halifax on September 26.
Does anyone know whether there is a preparation delivery centre in Halifax, or does the vehicle go straight to the dealer for preparation? |

Thanks for the reply. So when I read about the "preparation delivery centre" or PDC in other posts, what is that all about? Based on this, if my vehicle arrives in Halifax on Sunday September 26th, then reasonably, I should assume that my car will be loaded on a train in about 48-72 hours, then it will take about 1 week on the rails to get to Toronto, then maybe 48 hours for dealer prep. Does that sound about right to you?

Cars arriving in the US arrive at one of several ports and then go to a VPC (Vehcile Preparation Center). This centralized receiving location does final inspections, updates any software that needs updating and if needed will repair any damage that happens in transport. The cars are then sent to the various dealers and a final cleaning and inspection takes place before delivery.
The PDC is the Performance Delivery Center in South Carolina. US buyers can chose to take delivery here where you get a tour of the factory that builds the X5 and X3 along with a day of driving a car similar to yours around the test track.
