Traded in my 335......
I've had BMW's for about the last 10 years, and while I loved every second with them, I needed to try something new. Drove about everything out there in the sub 50k market, and settled on the VW CC R-Line edition. Got it a few weeks back, and dropped it on H&R Springs, got the APR Stage 1 tune, APR intake, HID fog lights, LED license plate lights and a few other goodies. Definitely nowhere near as responsive and direct as the 335, but I'm very pleased with it. Hard to get used to FWD after driving RWD for so many years. Power is pretty decent with the tune, certainly fast enough for what I need it for. Here's a few pictures

Why don't you post back here in a year and tell us how you still are driving an M-tech instead of an actual ///M.

Anyways.....To the poster asking what is different on the R-Line, it's more of an appearance package than anything. Smoked tails, body kit, badged door sills and different wheels, I think that's about it. Besides the obvious comment, thanks guys! I'll always be a BMW fan and will definitely be back, but this is a nice change for me and I save myself about $300 per month on it Ironically, I've gotten more positive comments and questions about this car in the 1.5 months I've had it than I did with my 335i coupe with the M Sport package. Go figure. |

Leave those fanboy comments elsewhere. The OP already mentioned that he's still getting used to fwd and that the CC isn't as responsive as his past bimmers. What more do you want from him? jeezzz

The 3k fogs were a great addition, they look killer at night. I almost went with 6000k to match the headlights, but thought the contrast would look good. Originally I put some yellow bulbs in there and it just looked pathetic so I ordered the HID! |

I haven't done any runs at the strip.....I've got a few mods, the APR tune really woke the car up. Others have reported around 250whp and 300ft/lb at the wheels. Either way I can tell you I don't think they will be beating up on any 335's, even a stock one let alone one with JB or another tune. Too much traction loss at launch really to even get a good time. There's a point when a FWD car gets too much power. It's quick with the mods but by no means a drag strip monster. Hardest thing for me to get used to is the handling. Even though I changed the suspension it's still not close to what BMW's can do. My 335 felt so connected to the road, I felt like I could take a corner at just about any speed and be on rails. Not so much with this. But again, I knew that going in, just wanted a good looking car that drove nice and wouldn't break the bank, so I'm a happy camper. Definitely miss the driving dynamics of the BMW, but there are just so many 3 series where I live, I think they are more common than civics around here. Damn rich people ruin it for all of us normal people
