Posting prices in the Marketplace section
I consider myself a new member to these boards, but I'm certainly not new to automotive forums. Anyway, I'm curious why rarely anybody posts prices in the Marketplace section. This includes sponsors AND private sellers. Every other post says "PM for best prices" or "PM with offers".
Coming from numerous other automotive enthusiast message boards over the years, doing exactly that is not allowed and is strictly dealt with with deleted threads and other diciplinary actions. "Diciplinary actions" sounds funny on a message board, but I'm sure you know what I'm trying to get at. I don't see a point in doing it at all. Is there some sort of marketing/sales tactic that I'm not aware of? If I don't see a price listed, I'll click the back button and buy from someone who does have a price. It's pretty annoying to say the least, but that's just me. /rant

so they make it personal, prices tend to be expensive and if you PM them they might work out a deal....also so their employees arent worthless, and have to stay on the forum to make sure they answer any questions

Most of them buy the same crap from the same companies in China. You can just walk around slapping all their balls and they'll keep beating each others prices.
