Trying out new suction cup mount
Used my 40D just in case anything were to happen and the camera took a spill.
Looks like I might need a N.D. filter to lower the amount of light coming into the camera to get as long of a shutter speed as I want. Was at 1/20, f/22 and 100 ISO. Ideally I'd like to be shooting around 1/4, and f/8 or lower for some nice DOF. Rig seemed a bit bouncy but thats cuz it has no supports other than the 2 suction cups its attached to. At least it held on. BTW: I'll personally anyone who mentions my car being dirty, I know, it's getting detailed in a few days so no use paying for a wash today when it's gonna snow/rain again tomorrow. You can use a AMAZING plugin called "focal point" in CS5 that will do what you are looking for. Also when the snow melts there will be a lot less light to have to worry about..

Pix of said rig/setup? Is it literally just 2 'suction cups' or combination cups w/ magic/boom arm, etc...?

If I want to try and steady it more I would need a triangulation kit like this... The thing is they're not only $$$ but I wouldn't be able to use my shoe mounted remote shutter release. It would be good for video though. |

^^^ Nice. I think Mike picked up the same mount last year.

what about the wired remote that plugs into the side, means you have to keep a window down, but at least you get a result.
and OMG so dirty!!!! I don't blame you though, it snowed 4 different times here yesterday, then rained all night, so outside is piles of slush, ice, and puddles everywhere... pretty sure i don't remember what colour my car is. |

well the wired remote would not only kinda defeat the purpose IMO but would probably be clanging against the car up at speed and whatnot.

It only costs £30 in the UK, but I'm sure you'll easily get one for your Canon in the US. |
