Hello everyone,

Going to Hawaii in late August this year for the first time.

Wanted to see if anybody has any recommendations on where to stay and what to do

Hoping to spend between 90 - 150 a night, any ideas?

First off, Hawaii is several different islands. Gotta narrow it down better than just naming the State.
We're going to Maui next month. Staying at the Royal Lahaina, right on the beach. Haven't been at that particular place yet but know some who have and like it alot. About $200 per nite.

I'm going in September. Staying at the St.Regis on Kauai and Four Seasons on Mauai.

You may find a better deal on vrbo.com or airbnb.com just rent a condo for that price. I can almost guarantee it will be better than a similarly priced hotel.

Stay in Wakikki downtown. Nightlife there is great. But don't forget to do some island hopping and the memorial visits. That's about it.

I went to kauai last spring with my gf, going back this fall. I'd budget about 300 per day per person. That's based on my experience and includes flight, hotel, car, meals, and alcohol. My ten day trip cost about 6k for two people. Fwiw, we stayed at the marriot at coconut beach. Food is expensive if you eat out. It's less so at supermarkets, but still more than in the CONUS. Also, we stayed in an oceanfront room, which obviously is more expensive.

If you're staying at Oahu for six nights, stay at the Royal Hawaiian. It's on the pricier side, but you won't give a damn thing because that hotel is just epic.
