Went out with friends today to play laser tag (someone's genius idea) and while running around in this dark maze I didn't see where my foot was and landed sideways on my ankle.

Went to the hospital and got some tenser bandages as well as crutches. No fractures (thank heavens) but the doctor says it's a bad sprain and will take me a couple weeks to get over it. Sucks BALLS because I can't get around freely anymore and even getting up to wash my hands is a challenge. It looks like a baby's fist is next to my ankle, it's swollen pretty bad.

I'm not basically stuck at home without a left foot to use and had to cancel my BBQ and Boating plans for 2mr, as well as the next few weeks without gym exercise. Angry Angry Angry. But hey, at least it's not the worst thing that could've happened to me. Frustrated though, gaah.

Edit: Turns out I either completely teared the ankle ligaments/tendons, or almost-complete teared it off... I did feel/hear a pop when I landed funny which is why I went to the hospital after to check for fractures.

Make sure when the swelling is gone and you can walk on your foot again to go to physiotherapy. You will have to strengthen your ankle again because, after the first time, your ankle becomes weak and it is more likely to happen to you again. I was on crutches for a couple of weeks because of an ankle sprain, and since then i've gotten it on the same foot a couple more times.

Man up. I broke my arm (very bad break) and spent 3 months basically incapacitated and another 5 months not being able to go to the gym.

Ankle injuries are the worst and after a bad sprain it makes you vulnerable to doing it again in future.

What worked for me was keeping it elevated and iced.

in this situation, i'd get my friends to assist me with carrying out my plans. but then again, i don't have friends nor plans.

Yeah I was planning on asking my buddy, who was planning a lot of these summer events with me, to carry around everything but that doesn't sit right with me so I opted differently.

Man a leg is almost useless without a foot huh.... >_>

I went to the hospital to get an x-ray to check for possible ankle fractures. See, up here it's all covered for us so we get to be thorough

Looks like it's a semi-tear or complete tear of my ankle ligament/tendons.

We actually went laser tagging to prepare for paintball later on. People said they wanted to try it without the pain first, lmao. Imo, laser tag and paintball are incomparable...

Went to play paintball few years back. Last game of the day, friend of mine stumbles on a root or something while running, falls on his face and starts screaming like a girl. We run up to him WTF? And his right foot is pointing backwards. Complete 180 degrees. He broke his femur (!!!) bone in 7 (!!!) places. Had to be airlifted to the hospital, metal rods through his leg, a year of recovery and scars for life.

So you got it easy man. It will go away soon

I was the one planning it so i was the one who had to go drive around for the steaks and bring the BBQ equipment to the location too. Can't drive with crutches and can't carry anything with crutches so I had to call off the thing. I could've had my buddy help me do it, but he lost his license =___=

omfg my ankle hurts when i think about it twisting back 180! jesus! Imma be extra careful and wear high boots when I go paintballing
