Tough Mudder - Who's Done It?

http://toughmudder.com

Me and a buddy are signing up for the event in California, and I am wondering if anyone else has done it yet? It seems like its going to kill me, but also looks fun. Whats the scoop?

Possibly one of the hardest things I have ever done. When they say train, they mean it.

I believe these events have the lowest percentage of finishers than all other athletic events in the world.... combined.

I just want to finish it, no time or anything else, as long as I can cross whatever finish line still breathing - i will be very happy.

@ecjohnston - Where did you do yours? any training tips? Lol

Check out Warrior Dash. It's only 3ish miles. A coworker here has a friend who did a mudder and said it wasn't competitive at all and just fun to do with a group of people. You set your own pace and most finish in 3 hours which is about a 1hr 10k pace (SLOW!).

Finishing is about all we hoped for. We did the one in Madison, WI this past summer. Truthfully, we followed the training advice that TM has because we had no idea what we were in for. Did it for about 2 months before we started, though YMMV. We thought we were all in fairly good physical condition, until we started it.

lolcat. hard.

i've seen warrior dash on youtube vids from a couple of animal pak people. definitely looks more doable.

all that cardio 10miles or whatever on the TM makes it not as appealing haha.

It's not as hard as you guys make it out to be... 3 hours is the avg completion time which means 3.3mph. A fit guy can walk a mile in 12-15min.

Assuming you are in okay shape now, only plan on finishing, and have friends to do it with and train with, you should be okay for time.

The shock wires were.... well, shocking

Just finished the VA one, sported my headband with pride this week! It was definitely hard, but most of the obstacles were lots of fun.

Tough Mudder VT here. It was awesome and very intense. Definitely reccomend it. The other races (spartan/warrior etc) are soft and don't even compare to TM.
