How would one start a career with the CIA?

from what i understand, many civilians are recruited by the CIA as early as high school. i would think the CIA will contact you if they're interested in something you may have to offer, IE education specialty, college grades, multiple languages, etc. outside of that, you might want to hurry up, join the military, and specialize in intelligence while you're there cause i doubt you can just walk into langley with a resume.

You typically are invited... I had to do personality interviews for a couple of my friends when I was a senior in college.

One for the CIA, one for DOD.

I had a professor who was ex-CIA. He was a cool dude and when there was time, took questions - since he was no longer active he told us what he could. Subtly hinted at the fact that there were a few active CIA on staff in various colleges & departments, who in addition to doing research, would survey the student population for potential CIA. Also mentioned that they were in depts you might expect them to be in...and many you wouldn't, like architecture (presumably to best analyze potential buildings to survey and break in?)

If you're still in college, make sure you have good grades...as in above a 3.0.

They still go to career fairs, but all they do is say "apply online". They screen everybody on an equal opportunity basis is what I was told from talking to one of them.
