2007 Jeep SRT-8
I got a friend who just picked himself up a rather nice Jeep SRT-8. I've nevere even heard of them before, but it is a nice car. He is wanting to line up against my 335i sedan and see what they can do. I'm curious if anyone has any info about the Jeep, and possibly how my BMW would fair? Thanks

He WONT beat you, i raced 3, with my non procede e92 335i, which 1 of them had a cat-back exhaust, and none beat me, the 1 with the exhuast was by my side up to 100mph after that i start pulling
They all did the brake and accelrate method from stand still and so did i. |

As a side note, I've been lurking around the forums for a while and want to thank everyone for keeping this site alive! I have found soooo much useful info with my 335. I came from a lifetime of Ford trucks, and I have stepped into the BMW world, and just greatly appreciate the help and input! |

I think you'll get beat, but it will be close. From a dig, you should have an advantage, but top end that thing is a monster. SRT-8's have a ton of torque, too. Whoever wins or loses, that jeep sounds BADASS!

its a quick jeep. i raced my buddys in my stg 2 legacy and off the line pretty much equal but i would start pulling by 3rd gear. the 335 is about the same as the stg2 so i think it will be real close. w/procede.no contest

nope, rr sport supercharged traps ~95mph in the 1/4 mile IIRC, ALOT slower than the Jeep.

BMW 335i 0-60 5.1s
BMW 335i 1/4 mile 13.6s Jeep SRT-8 0-60 5.2s Jeep SRT-8 1/4 mile 13.5s Porsche Cayenne Turbo 0-60 5.9s Porsche Cayenne Turbo 1/4 mile 14.3s Therefore one can assume if either the 335i or the SRT-8 is far ahead, the other driver sucks. Also if one adds the Procede, then it is only fair to give Jeep a mod as well. Here is the Hennessey SRT600 upgrade to the Jeep. BMW 335i Procede 0-60 4.6s BMW 335i Procede 1/4 mile 13.03s Jeep SRT-8 Hennessey SRT600 0-60 3.5s Jeep SRT-8 Hennessey SRT600 1/4 mile 11.9 @ 115.6mph |

Heres how I arrived at the figures, I visited various sources on the internet, added their numbers together and averaged them out since every source likes to have their own times. Same with the 1/4 mile time, and 13.6 is within your range. I am sure there are SRT-8 owners who will claim faster times as well.
The same I did with the procede except instead I averaged published time slips and came out to that figure. So yes there may be a couple tenths of error but there may also be a couple tenths of error with the SRT-8 as well, so it doesn't mean all that much. Neither car is going to walk on the other one with equal drivers. |

And you will need to spend over $30K with shipping costs and currently a 16 week backlog just so your Jeep can keep up with the 335i. FYI Apparently the Hennessy upgrade is rare at only 50 units a year. |

I only used it as an example because everyone brings out the Procede vs. every other car that is non modified as though it is some free upgrade or as though it isn't counted as a mod. When comparing both stock automobiles they are basically equal.
When you upgrade the Jeep to the Hennessy SRT600, you aren't worried about keeping up with Procededed BMWs any more, you are now in Turbo Porsche and Corvette Z06 territory. They are limited but you can get them and are around $68,000 total according to figures I've found and only getting 8mpg, whereas the 335i sips gas like a Prius in comparison. |

i drove in one of those Jeeps and also in a 300 with the same engine. it is strong, very strong. the slushbox in it sucked ass though and so did the traction control.

The Jeep is pretty strong, you can say both cars are equal off the line, after that the 335i starts pulling..
why is that?? well i think some guy called Mr. Aerodynamics will answer your question, and dont forget the power to weight ratio factor EDIT: the jeep manages to keep up with the 335i off the line becuase of the AWD and its 420 lb-ft |
